The pressure to make decisions quickly can push leaders toward the wrong answers. Dr. Ali Atkinson calls her approach “Deliberate Doubt”—interrupting certainty with curiosity before acting. A good instinct can survive one thoughtful question. New Leading Through Growth episode out now.

On the latest episode of my podcast Leading Through Growth, I asked my guest Nick Reich if his ideas around having a “people first” culture would create an environment of low or even anti-accountability. His answer reminds us that the answer is often “AND” and not “OR”. Take a listen…

Can you build a high-performing team without burning people out? Nick Reich believes you can. And he makes the case that putting people first isn’t just good for employees. It’s good for business. In this week’s Leading Through Growth, we’re talking about: - Lessons from building a state championship basketball program - High expectations AND genuine care - Accountability without sacrificing connection - Building teams that deliver sustainable results This conversation challenges what it really means to put people first.

I think every leader should journal. It helps create clarity. It helps create self-awareness. It helps build decision-making. Do you journal?

What if confidence doesn’t come before action? Sometimes you take the step scared—and the action is what builds the confidence. You get paid for the prep but the performance is free. The last couple of weeks I captured some (rough) footage of me preparing for a keynote. Although I’ve delivered this keynote before, I’ve never done it for this audience. So I wanted to spend an extra few hours tweaking, tinkering, and tightening my presentation before the event. I want every event planner, partner, and client that brings me in to serve them to know the level of work and dedication I put into my craft behind the scenes. When I arrive, I’m ready to serve and deliver. Not just for you or your people, but also for myself. I absolutely love the work I GET to do every day. And the best part? I haven’t even begun to get good yet!
