I have a teacher friend in LA going to the World Series with his elderly father. “I feel bad taking Friday off but the traffic is insane and we are walking in when the gates open.”
My thought: You’ve spent 24 years covering classes, doing IEP meetings, chaperoning dances. Take the day off. I promise you the kids will be okay.
Hot take: teachers are human and mental health days have to include things like a World Series game with your 78 year old dad. Full stop. Just go.

In a world that promotes tearing others down to build ourselves up, we can make a difference by using our words to bless and encourage.
And simply giving kind words is one of the greatest ways to make the love of Jesus known to those who so desperately need it.

One word of encouragement can change the trajectory of someone’s day/week/year.
Never waste an unspoken blessing.

Administrators, Teachers who receive regular recognition & appreciation tend to be:
* More Productive
* More engaged in school
* More likely to stay with school
* More likely to receive higher satisfaction scores from students & parents.
Yes, appreciation matter!

The earlier kids get smartphones, the worse their mental health as adults.
New study, 27k+ ppl: owning a smartphone younger predicts lower self-worth, motivation & resilience—and more sadness, anxiety & aggression—especially for girls.
Smartphones should wait until high school.

Absolutely inspirational & motivational from start to finish. Everyone needs that reminder that "relationships are free" and to make the classroom somewhere they want to be-not have to be! #CampPromethean23 @Promethean @topdogteaching

A reminder as you start a new week: Relationships really matter. 🧡

ALT "I remember going into my first year of teaching thinking I was going to use a bunch of cute classroom management tricks. I’m now 4 years in and although those tricks are helpful, I’ve learned the most important and effective classroom management strategy is RELATIONSHIPS." —Abby Howard, Teacher

Treat your teachers well this year! if you want to keep the best teachers, treat them like they are the best. Few teachers leave an environment where they feel valued, supported, appreciated, and treated like professionals.
