“Somebody Told Me” was written by all four members of The Killers and appears on their 2004 debut album Hot Fuss. Brandon Flowers has described it as the story of trying to meet someone in a club, drawn from nights out in Las Vegas while listening to Pulp and David Bowie. Released as the second single in March 2004, it initially reached No. 28 on the UK Singles Chart before a 2005 re-release took it to No. 3. It peaked at No. 51 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 3 on the Alternative chart. The track helped establish the band’s new-wave-influenced sound and remains one of their signature early hits.
