The moment of reflection:
First conference loss in 2 years and JMU is so far ahead that the one loss still means we are on top

Imagine being so successful the entire nation considers you losing 1 game a seismic event.

As a JMU fan, it’s not easy carrying the burden of being in the conversation for a CFP berth.
I am now relieved of that and am free.

Should Providence decree that we miss the Playoffs, no finer consolation exists than compelling the Hokies into an unavoidable rendezvous. To extract an $800k indemnity for their retreat, only to vanquish them in postseason combat? A triumph of supreme poetic justice.

Thinking about becoming obsessive about how much other SBC schools charge for parking and season tickets to fund athletics and other things that have absolutely zero impact on my life whatsoever.

He should not. He should have to play in an actual league to earn league rewards

Napier beating teams so bad their fans are releasing FAQs after the game 🤯
Not reading all that.
Sorry for your loss / happy for you.
Well, I've finally caught up on all the replies, memes, GIFs, and AI-generated masterpieces from JMU fans. Rather than respond to everyone individually, let's clear a few things up.
Are we good? Absolutely. If we haven't given up on Georgia State by now, Saturday certainly wasn't going to do it.
Embarrassed to be Georgia State fans? Not remotely. The people who should be embarrassed are Dell McGee and his coaching staff. They were completely outcoached Saturday. Credit to JMU for taking full advantage.
This is all because JMU is leaving for the American? Please. We've disliked JMU since before they joined the Sun Belt. We didn't want you then. We thought the whining about the postseason ban was ridiculous (and somehow you're STILL talking about it). We even rooted against you in the CFP. Your move to the American doesn't make us dislike you more. It just makes us more frustrated with our own administration.
Crying about the streamers? We weren't crying. We confidently predicted you wouldn't need them. Clearly, we were wrong. Enjoy your streamers.
We fired the first shots? Absolutely. We talked trash and got our asses kicked. We'll own that. But judging by the response, I had no idea our little Georgia State podcast meant so much to JMU fans. We're flattered.
Why weren't we at the "biggest game of the year"? We're middle-aged guys with families. We attend our home games, but road trips aren't always in the cards. I've personally attended exactly one conference road game. Question our predictions all you want, but questioning our fandom because we didn't drive to Harrisonburg is a pretty weak argument.
As for the actual game, JMU was the better-prepared team. No excuses. Georgia State has serious questions to answer, and I'm interested to see how this team responds at Arkansas State.
But if anyone thinks Saturday humbled us into silence, you're going to be disappointed.
We're still here. Still Georgia State fans. Still don't like JMU. And still perfectly willing to talk trash again.
And to all the JMU fans who've had so much fun in our mentions, join us Tuesday at 9 PM ET for our livestream. We'll be breaking down Saturday's game, discussing what went wrong, and taking your comments live.
Oh, and yes, the concert was great. Thanks to everyone who asked. 🤘

What if we had something like 10 conferences, all split up by region of the country. Then during the regular season, they play within their conference. Then we took the winners of each conference and put them in a playoff. Maybe we could add a few teams that were really close to winning their conference and call them “at large” bids. Then all of those teams could play in a tournament style playoff.
We could call it The College Football Playoff.
New Mexico, Boise State, or Oregon State.
JMU didn't schedule a single P4 opponent, and UTSA got outclassed by Texas 30-6. At least the other three teams went on the road and competed until the very end against some of the best teams in CFB! They shouldn’t be punished for SOS.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
JMU scheduled a 2026 game vs Virginia Tech (ACC) but VT cancelled it due to ACC's 9-game conference schedule change and paid JMU an $800k buyout per contract; JMU replaced it with San Diego State and had no P4 opponents on its final slate.

The American is getting new corporate sponsors. JMU found those sponsors and they would only sign up if JMU was invited. That is covering JMU 's entrance fee.
