❗John Healey resigned as Defence Secretary because Keir Starmer wouldn't fund defence with 3% of GDP. Now Healey is Chancellor, and he is kicking the can down the road just like Starmer did. ❌ Andy Burnham and his Cabinet are putting social security before national security. They are surrendering to their backbenchers and refusing to cut welfare to fund defence. 🔵Only Conservatives have the plan to get to 3% by 2030, recruit 20,000 more soldiers and protect our country with the Britannia Shield.

The economy under Labour 👇
At 13.00 we’ll be hosting a pre-Budget webinar on public expectations for John Healey’s first budget and how the Government can address perceptions of the economy that make for an even worse word cloud than most politicians receive. Sign up at this link! moreincommon.zoom.us/webinar…

Every year under Labour, London pays more and gets less. We need a Mayor who is willing and able to stand up to them.

This is just embarrassing. In 2019, Notre Dame burnt down. The damage was immense, costing nearly €700 million to fix. It took 5 years to reopen to the public. In the SAME WEEK, Hammersmith Bridge closed because of some structural damage. It didn’t burn down, and it didn’t collapse. Cars and buses were banned from using the bridge. Seven years later, it STILL has not reopened. We have spent £60 million since the closure, and we are nowhere close to opening it again. This is what happens when we forget how to build. Bridges close, and we are just meant to accept they will never open again. Potholes appear in the roads, and they never get fixed. Trains get delayed, and that’s just “how it is now”. We should never accept this. We are campaigning against it. Join us. What do you think?

It’s none of Lambeth Council’s business how much money companies in the borough make. Instead of browbeating them, why don’t they do their own job, and fix potholes and collect bins? Any business hounded out of a Green-run borough is very welcome to move to a Conservative one.
Shell, with Headquarters in Lambeth, made £7.4 billion in 3 months 🤯 This is a climate emergency 🌍 We are asking Shell to contribute to Lambeth’s climate resilience plan, in proportion to its share of global emissions 💰 It's time they helped pay to protect Lambeth 🫵

Brilliant to be on the long list to be the Conservative candidate for Mayor of London. I’m looking forward to the competition and can’t wait to speak to members all over our great city. Together, we will make London a city we can all be proud of again.

Kemi Badenoch has hit out at Andy Burnham for appearing on Channel 4’s Gogglebox, telling the BBC: “I just don’t know how he has the time – there’s a Budget next week and he’s going on Gogglebox.” The Prime Minister will feature in a charity episode of the programme alongside Steve Rotheram, the mayor of Liverpool, on Friday night⤵️ telegraph.co.uk/politics/202…

The Conservative lead is more pronounced since the start of September
Last night was the Conservatives’ best in a long time: four wins from five contests, three of them gains. That takes them to 29 wins since May’s local elections, more than any other party (Reform 26, Labour 26, Lib Dems 24).

EXCL: Nigel Farage’s newest billionaire donor was in business with a powerful Iranian religious foundation under the authority of the country’s supreme leader, raising questions about his past dealings with the hardline republic. Hossein Ghandehari, also called Sasan, was little known in the UK until he pledged to give millions to Reform UK this summer and donated £50,000 to Farage to cover the cost of two passes for the Davos World Economic Forum. Cracking story from @rowenamason theguardian.com/politics/202…

Well done Jose - the most unfair, ‘Fair’ Funding Formula that any council has ever been subjected to. You’ve got to hand it to @UKLabour, they are remarkably ruthless when it comes down to favouring their own base. Voters beware.
🥀 Despite over 60 public questions on council tax, they filibustered to ensure not even one resident got to ask a question on it. They then shamefully voted down our proposal to extend public questions - a slap in the face to those who turned up in good faith. See more 👇

Iran's Foreign Minister is getting a platform in Britain that his people are killed for in Iran. He claims he wants “to give diplomacy another chance” and doesn't want escalation, but he is threatening our people and his IRGC bosses are murdering thousands across the Middle East, including recently civilians in Riyadh and Yemen. No wonder @FT switched off the comments. His lies don't stand up to scrutiny.
Opinion: While Iran is firmly committed to seeking a dignified peaceful resolution to the conflict, we are also fully prepared to defend ourselves, writes Abbas Araghchi, the country's foreign minister ft.trib.al/NqUhFmq
