This is *very* important.

Sorry but paper ballots are something I will defend to the death. You need a voting system simple enough that the dumbest person can see and understand everything about how it works. Trust is more important than speed.

So close! What we're seeing here is a setup. Guy phoned it in himself and had cameras ready to film the visit from enforcement to upload for content. No 12 year old is running a teddy bear cafe

You can have all the Martyns Law you want but when they don't bother to use the installed infrastructure then its pretty poor. Especially when we have had a relatively recent car/pedestrian incident. @lpoolcouncil
Bollards on Bold Street are down again. This is a massive casualty event waiting to happen

A VICTIM OF 20% VAT ON LISTED BUILDING REFURBSIHMENTS.
Imagine not even bothering to save the stained glass windows. Extraordinary.

This is it. Liverpool City Council has focussed on the low hanging fruit - Beatles, Football and Tourism. A good base and a benefit but not very hard when the private sector does it so well. We need focus on computer games, biotech and the post-production film industry.
Our sources in the LCR inform us an International media company pulls away from relocation into the Liverpool city region due to its party style economy meanwhile @LCRMayor is silent TTTTTT that’s another fine mess he’s got us into to go along with his food app and his hydrobuses

No. It's disgusting but it is the way it is. There is no ideology behind it other than bare financialism.

I saw Tom Watson in the Baltic Fleet once during a Labour Party conference. I remember getting the impression he had no greater love than the sound of his own voice booming across the pub.

A man who raced over 90mph in a 30mph zone got a £253 fine and a 56-day driving ban. "If these men had caused the same level of endangerment by any other means, it’s hard to believe they would have got off so lightly." theguardian.com/commentisfre…

My abiding personal memory of September 11th and the aftermath was for weeks afterwards looking up every time you heard a plane in the sky.

There is a weird picture in the @guardian about the new ticket acceptance rules. Firstly, Huyton isn't a terminal stop so I don't know why it's there. Secondly I can't think of a station on the Wigan-Liverpool line (which this is) that has a large traditional clock. AI?

New guy in work called it 'millenial grey'. I am a millenial and I personally refute that accusation but also acknowledge its fucking true. Damn your grey, greige, joyless monochromatic world. Maybe it was McDonalds fault for going all brown... maybe it's fate.

The great irony of 'lanyardian' becoming a synonym for 'out of touch with normal people' is that loads of normal people (e.g. shop assistants, teachers, etc) wear lanyards to work, and only someone startlingly out of touch with normal people would not realise this.
Replying to @mrianleslie
Glad it's not just me who finds talk of the "UK" very stilted and lanyardian. Normal people say "Britain" and politicians should too, unless there's a very specific Northern Ireland-themed reason.
