How come there's a lot of japanese cosplayer with huge tits recently? What happened there?

The number of pirated downloads does not equal lost sales. There will always be people who pirate games, and that's just how it is. The financial damage you should actually be concerned about is how much profit company can get if those people had purchased the game. (1/3)
You also have to consider making the game available on a platform like Steam could turn some of those players into paying customers. An older game might have been pirated for years, but that doesn't mean there's no market for an affordable, convenient, legitimate release. (2/3)

I once argued with a Japanese person for exactly this reason: they failed to grasp the point
