White women did this. Or Hispanic men. Maybe it was inflation. Or Democrat messaging. Or Russia. Or Gaza. Or Jesus.
We GOTTA blame someone, right?

If you want to know where young American women are at, the Google search term interest for the 4b movement says it all. (It’s a South Korean term for women who swear off sex, marriage and childbirth with men)

We must not delude ourselves in this moment. Multiracial democracy in the United States is less than 60 years old. It has always been contested, often violently so. It has always been fragile. Since this nation's inception large swaths of white Americans -- including white women -- have claimed a belief in democracy while actually enforcing a white ethnocracy. In the face of shifting demographics where white Americans will lose their numeric majority, we see a growing embrace of autocracy to keep the "legitimate" rulers of this country in power. History teaches us that we are in a perilous moment.

“I wasn’t good at advertising design. I really struggled with it. I suppose I eventually learned how to imitate it, but I definitely didn’t excel at it. It was disappointing because I spent my whole life wanting to be a designer.” —Annie Atkins bit.ly/3NHtgK9

It’s not exactly a campaign season issue, but one bill @tammybaldwin worked on that is profoundly impactful is the legislation that created the 9-8-8 suicide prevention and mental health crisis hotline.

I am honored to have been asked to contribute to this. In an algorithm-driven world that just makes the rich richer, it’s more important than ever to support archivists who save forgotten or unpopular things.
The Vanishing Culture report arrives today at a critical moment: While @internetarchive recovers from a cyberattack, it’s a reminder of how fragile our access to knowledge can be. Preserving culture & history requires resilience—and collective action.

ALT The image shows the cover of the Internet Archive's Vanishing Culture report. On the left, the words "Vanishing Culture" are prominently displayed in bold, dark font against a neutral background. To the right, a set of cultural artifacts including a VHS tape, an open book, a film reel, a vinyl record, and a web link icon appear to disintegrate into pixels, symbolizing the disappearance of analog and digital media. Below these icons is a pixelated computer hand cursor pointing to the word "SAVE," emphasizing the need for preservation. The Internet Archive's logo is placed in the bottom-right corner.

The vote by the Israeli Parliament against @UNRWA is unprecedented. It opposes the @UN Charter and violates the State of Israel’s obligations under international law.
Failing to push back against these bills will weaken our common multilateral mechanism.
This should be a concern to all.
The vote by the Israeli Parliament (Knesset) against @UNRWA this evening is unprecedented and sets a dangerous precedent. It opposes the UN Charter and violates the State of Israel’s obligations under international law.
This is the latest in the ongoing campaign to discredit UNRWA and delegitimize its role towards providing human-development assistance and services to #Palestine Refugees.
These bills will only deepen the suffering of Palestinians, especially in #Gaza where people have been going through more than a year of sheer hell.
It will deprive over 650,000 girls & boys there from education, putting at risk an entire generation of children.
These bills increase the suffering of the Palestinians & are nothing less than collective punishment.
Putting an end to UNRWA & its services will not strip the Palestinians from their refugee status. That status is protected by another UN General Assembly resolution until a fair and lasting solution is found to the plight of the Palestinians.
Failing to push back these bills will weaken our common multilateral mechanism established after World War 2.
This should be a concern to all.
