GM ☀️ Happy Sunday everyone! "Primal Embrace" There is no evil in Darkness. This piece captures just that, the intense romance between two beings, both born from darkness. Unbound by conventional beliefs, these two free Spirits enjoy the primal pleasures of true love and devotion. Under a crimson sky they savor their Midnight Mass. #midnightmass #TrappedinFlesh™ #artistontezos objkt.com/tokens/KT1KCxSrQtD…

A forgotten 18th-century literary scandal turned into a 19th-century academic painting. Phrosine and Mélidore is a romantic tragedy from 1780, written by Marmontel. It was wildly popular in its time. The kind of sentimental drama people cried over, and painters loved to turn into moral tableaux. Dantan's 1878 version is one of those. Phrosine is a young woman who falls in love with Mélidore, a nobleman already promised to another woman. When the affair is discovered, she is condemned for loving someone she wasn't allowed to love. Her sentence: to be drowned. And here's where it hits you - if you were Mélidore, arriving a minute too late, what would you do? Hold her? Fight fate? Or just watch? He sees her dying, tries to hold her, tries to fight fate, but the punishment stands. It's melodrama, but the kind 19th-century painters adored - passion, duty, and the cruelty of social rules.

Bro saw the female body and immediately thought of porn, proving some men only see women as sexual objects.
my personal conspiracy theory is that sculptures were the old world equivalent of modern day porn artists, "patrons" would order "commissions" that were very realistic that the rich could stare at all day
