The rate of deforestation far supersedes that of afforestation .Some 330 000 hectares of forest are lost anually .This issue requires collective efforts as a country hence we strive to reach out to communities and children and inspire them to be tree growers.

🌍Happy Environment Day! Let's celebrate the beauty of our planet and commit to protecting it for future generations. Every small action counts – plant a tree, reduce waste, and spread love for our Earth. Together, we can make a difference!

A small mobile library focused on trees has been installed at Our Epworth nursery to offer free learning materials for the people on the importance of trees, their care and management. The goal is to make sure that everybody is empowered through environmental education.

@GreenInstitute2 we believe planting trees should be an everyday thing. 2022 has been great as managed to plant more than 500 trees in Chipinge District.

AN ASTOUNDING FACT! Trees can communicate and defend themselves against attacking insects. Trees can flood their leaves with chemicals called phenolics when the insects begin their raid. They can also signal danger to other trees so they can start their own defense. @treeknowers

At our tree planting last week, the children at Kambuzuma 2 High School gave us several performances on the importance of trees and protecting the environment @TreeKnowers @Nedbank. Here is a great song/poem. #treeplanting #education

We had a wonderful planting day yesterday at Kambuzuma 2 High School. We planted 500 indigenous trees in collaboration with @Nedbank and @TreeKnowers

Each of our nursery sites is supported by its local
community who are paid for their seed collections.
This also ensures that we are collecting seeds from indigenous species and replicating existing biodiversity without introducing the wrong species.

We need to stop the destruction of our wetlands. They are vital to the survival of our urban spaces. Let's stop the planned construction on the RAMSAR recognised Monavale Vlei. Please sign the petition. #SaveMonavaleVlei

Love your environment as well this month. @BaronChkn and myself decided to revisit trees that we planted last year in partnership with @MyTreesTrust and @TreeKnowers at Maranatha High School in Harare.

The onslaught assault on wetlands and climate change may eventually lead into a crisis, we may become climate refugees ~ Sergio @TreeKnowers

"Wetlands action for people and nature" The world is connected, it is open, climate issues are not isolated to national bounderies. We can not talk about preserving the #environment for future generations, we are already in a crisis. Lets find resources efficient mitigations.

We need to look after our ecosystems. We can't look after the wetlands and ignore the trees, we can't look after the trees and ignore the animals. The biggest catastrophe is changing the ecosystem, let us restore the natural ecosystem. @Harare_Wetlands
