UPDATE ON MENZL SPA
In April 2026, Matahio Energy entered into a Share Purchase Agreement with Sunda Energy for the sale of our New Zealand business, Matahio Energy New Zealand Limited [MENZL]
As we await the government consent required for the change of control of the assets, we continue to work closely with Sunda Energy towards completion, including planning together for the year ahead.
In the meantime, it remains business as usual for our team in New Zealand. Our 2027 programme includes scheduled production enhancement work, operational improvements to support the continued performance of our assets, the drilling of the Oru-2 well at Puka, and planned decommissioning of the Supplejack Field.
We remain committed to our people, our communities and the responsible operation of our assets - an approach that reflects our ethos of #ProgressiveEnergy.

‘RNS’ - Operational Update
Sunda Energy Plc (AIM: SNDA), the AIM-quoted exploration and appraisal company focused on gas assets in the Asia-Pacific region, is pleased to provide the following operational update and guidance on its anticipated timelines for key milestones.
New Zealand 🇳🇿
In preparation for completion of the Matahio Energy NZ Limited (“Matahio NZ”) acquisition, the Company is working closely with the seller of Matahio NZ to develop operational plans and budgets for 2027, with multiple opportunities targeted for asset improvement and production growth, including drilling of the Oru-2 well. The assets being acquired continue to perform well, with good production levels (average 1,059 barrels of oil equivalent per day (“boepd”) in the 9 months to end September 2026 versus average of 1,028 boepd for calendar year 2025) that brings additional revenues to Matahio NZ in the current high commodity price environment. The effective date of the acquisition is 1 January 2026.
The acquisition of Matahio NZ is pending government consent for the change of control of the assets. The process is ongoing, with good communications with the regulator, New Zealand Petroleum and Minerals (“NZPAM”). Timing is outside of the Company’s direct control and as such further updates will be provided in due course.
Elsewhere in New Zealand, as announced on 14 October 2026, Sunda’s application for an offshore exploration permit containing the Awakino gas field is now exclusive. The detailed evaluation phase has now been commenced by NZPAM, and it is expected that the exploration permit will be awarded late in Q1 or early Q2 2027 although the award and timing cannot be guaranteed.
Timor-Leste 🇹🇱
The new expiry date of the current phase of the Production Sharing Contract TL-SO-19-16 (the "PSC") has been confirmed as 16 October 2027, following the Company’s announcement on 19 October 2026 that its wholly owned subsidiary, SundaGas Banda Unipessoal, Lda. ("SundaGas"), had received a 12-month extension (the “Extension”) from Timor-Leste upstream regulator, Autoridade Nacional do Petróleo (“ANP”).
Following receipt of the Extension, negotiations are continuing between SundaGas and government-owned joint venture partner TIMOR GAP Chuditch Unipessoal, Lda. (“TIMOR GAP”) concerning a farm-in by TIMOR GAP for an enlarged working interest in the PSC and the transfer of operatorship to TIMOR GAP. The target for completion of discussions and securing relevant ANP approvals is by the end of 2026.
Finder Energy Holdings Limited (ASX:FDR) (“Finder”) has confirmed that one of the additional optional drilling slots on the Hakuryu-5 rig is in principle earmarked for the Company’s Chuditch-2 appraisal well (“Chuditch-2”). This follows Finder signing a contract in October 2026 for the Hakuryu-5 drilling rig, with additional optional drilling slots to provide flexibility to accommodate other operators. The letter of intent to jointly pursue a rig has expired as it is no longer required. The Company is continuing to work closely with Finder on plans for the drilling campaign for Chuditch-2.
Philippines 🇵🇭
The Company is pleased to report good ongoing progress on the various technical evaluations and the seismic reprocessing project. First fast-track reprocessed 3D seismic products are expected during Q1 2027. This follows several technical and commercial joint venture meetings held during October 2026.
Dr Andy Butler, Sunda CEO, commented:
“The Company continues to make positive progress across its various initiatives and, as we approach the end of 2026, our business opportunity portfolio is richer than ever. We look forward to delivering on the multiple targeted milestones and providing regular updates as we do so.”

Q1 FY27
Quarterly Report
Key Points
▪ Halcon prospect upgraded to 8 TCF gross
unrisked 2U from 2.6 TCF, plus Geological
Chance of Success increased to 24%
▪ Seismic reprocessing and other technical
work progressing on-schedule for
Philippines blocks SC-80 and SC-81 with
fast-track data expected in Q1 2027
▪ Resource upgrade and new data will
underpin discussions with major oil and gas
companies about a potentially game-
changing farm-out deal
▪ Business Development activities
accelerating across Southeast Asia
▪ $3.96 million in available cash
▪ Dr Sam Algar appointed CEO bringing 30+
years of oil & gas experience – previously
with Murphy, Oil Search, Cairn, ENI, Beach
Tetragon Energy CEO Sam Algar said:
“Tetragon’s first quarter as a listed company has seen
strong market support for its strategy to unlock the
potentially immense value of its Philippines assets. We
have already made rapid progress towards the goal of
bringing a major player into our acreage given the
significant increase in the potential resource at the
Halcon prospect. The reprocessing of the seismic data
has been fast tracked, with the initial processing due
in the coming quarter. This data will be central to our
farm-out discussions. In tandem with this work,
Tetragon is also accelerating a number of strong
business development opportunities in the region”.
Philippines SC-80 & SC-81 Offshore Sandakan Basin (Sulu Sea)
Tetragon Energy holds a 37.5% interest in, and is operator of, Philippines Permits
SC-80 and SC-81 with partners Sunda Energy, Philodrill and PXP Energy. The
permits are in the Sandakan Basin, north of Borneo.
SC-80 and SC-81 contain gas discoveries and wells with gas and oil shows. The
geology is analogous to that of other circum-Borneo basins which have many
billions of barrels of oil and over 100 TCF of gas (Figure 1).
Tetragon and JV partners are applying the latest reprocessing technologies to
improve and enhance the seismic data quality. This reprocessing is on schedule
with “fast-track” data delivery expected in Q1 2027 and “final” data volumes available
in Q3 2027. This new data should result in a much better understanding of the
prospectivity of the licences, including the definition of additional prospects adding to the resource base of the permits. The reprocessing result will be used to target a
“farm-out” of equity in the blocks to a company, or companies, that would in
exchange fund major activities including drilling of the key prospect or prospects
in the licences.
In parallel with the seismic reprocessing work, the Company continued to assess
the prospectivity of SC-80 and SC-81. On 3 September 2026, the Company
announced a significant, three-fold, increase in the mid case prospective resources
of the Halcon prospect, increasing from 2.6 TCF to 8.0 TCF gross unrisked.
The Company believes that these resources have the degree of materiality
necessary to attract a large international oil and gas company to farm-in to the
licences and drill an exploration well on one of these prospects.
The Geological Chance of Success also increased from 18% to 24% following the
observation that the Halcon reservoirs are of the same age as those in other circum-
Borneo fields which have discoveries in the multi-TCF range (Figure 2). Further, the
seismic survey data in the Halcon prospect exhibits a “Class III AVO response” that
can be consistent with the presence of hydrocarbons and/or caused by the
presence of high-quality sandstone reservoir.
The Company expects to announce updates to the resource and chance of success
of prospects within the licences in the coming months using the seismic
reprocessing, seismic quantitative interpretation, basin modelling and depositional
analysis.

Sunda Energy uses the "three-legged stool" metaphor to describe its core corporate portfolio and strategic transition into a full-cycle, revenue-generating energy company in the Asia-Pacific region.
According to CEO Andy Butler, adding the third leg transformed the company into a stable, balanced business.
The Three Legs of Sunda Energy's Portfolio
• Leg 1 — Timor-Leste (The Anchor Project): The Chuditch gas field appraisal and development project (held via a production sharing contract), representing a large-scale gas resource (~1.2 trillion cubic feet Pmean gas potential) targeted for long-term development.
• Leg 2 — The Philippines (High-Impact Exploration): Non-operated working interests in two offshore exploration blocks in the southwest Sulu Sea, offering high-impact prospective gas resources.
• Leg 3 — New Zealand (Production & Cash Flow): The conditional acquisition of Matahio Energy NZ's onshore Taranaki Basin oil and gas assets (including the Cheal, Cheal East, Sidewinder, and Puka fields). This leg provides immediate production (approx. 1,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day) and cash flow to help fund exploration and development across the rest of the portfolio.

Gerry Aherne, Sunda Chairman, commented:
“The first half of 2026 was a truly transformational period for Sunda. The conditional acquisition of a cash flow generative production business in New Zealand with exploration and development upside takes the Group to a different level and positions the Company to realise significant value for shareholders from this new business and, we believe, from our existing assets. I look forward to successful completion of the Acquisition and an exciting period to the end of 2026 and into 2027.”
