The narrative and the polls don't make sense. And when this happens it usually means the polls are way wrong. Happened in Kansas multiple times and it's happening again. This year, the narrative is that Adam Hamilton is a uniquely strong candidate and also that voters are mad at Roger Marshall for collecting on medical debts or whatever.
But of course, the biggest constituency for Adam Hamilton is 18-29 voters and 30-44. And a massive 49% margin with non-white voters. And most important, the Democrat gubernatorial candidate also leads slightly in Kansas even though she is not running to replace a scandal-ridden incumbent in a red state like in 2018? She's running to replace a termed-out Democrat in a red state. When that happens, a red state usually goes back solidly red.

The reason costs are so high is because @Hamilton4Kansas’s party illegally pushed in 40M freeloaders and Kansans have had to foot the bill. Vote Marshall
JoCo Chair Mike Kelly (D) is using his Amberwave PAC to purify the Johnson County Commission to only have Democratic members.
Kelly's PAC is spending $25.5K to support incumbent Democrat Beck Fast against Republican challenger Ben Hobert, and $34K to support Greg Mitchell (D) to knock out the only Republican commissioner, Michael Ashcraft.
The Board of County Commissioners is the election board that certifies elections. If Kelly succeeds in knocking out Ashcraft, the county election board will be 7 Democrats and 0 Republicans. That doesn't seem right for the makeup of a county election board. Perhaps something for the legislature to review?
Kelly's Amberwave PAC is also spending $24.5K to support Amy Diediker (D) against Jim McMullen (R) in State Board of Ed district 3.
With such a "nonpartisan" chair of JoCo, it's time to return to partisan county commissioner elections. Why are we forced to pretend these contests are "nonpartisan?"
