The country failed to qualify for a World Cup. That should have sparked a massive inquisition about how to solve the nation team’s issue. The first step would be to clean house. The program itself should be ripped up and start a fresh. The older guards such as Lowe, Bobby Reid and Co should be phased out. Thank you for your service but you are here now to help usher in the new guard. We simply cannot be starting Damion Lowe in 2026, not when there is a good prospect on the bench in the name of Miguel Freckleton. The aim for the next year should be finding a squad that can play together for the next 4 years and push for a better World Cup qualifying attempt. Rudolph Speid is also a no, simply because he is not impartial when it comes to the national program. Footballing politics is heavy within the JFF and the team needs a head coach that is impartial when it comes to team selection and player management. Whether or not you agree with Speid’s capabilities as head coach is irrelevant, simply because of the fact that he has affiliations with the JFF before his tenure as HC. Simply put, the program needs a fresh start, and that will not be achieved by merely changing coaches. JFF itself needs a fresh start, members of the board, players, coaching. Even the field in which we play on is subpar and that will affect results. It’s 2026 and somehow the future of Jamaican football has never looked this bleak before. Just for reference, the last time Jamaica came from behind to win a game was the 21st of November, 2023 when we played Canada in the second leg of Nations League QF match. This was the last time Jamaica had aura imo, as Nicholson even dropped a banger quote to go with the win.
