This is climate change & we are only just approaching warming levels where it starts to bite. That’s why sensible people want to restrict warming as much as possible. 5-7 days of 40C + in France kills vulnerable people, farm animals, wildlife, crops and raises wildfire risk.

UK natural gas has increased in price by 190% over the last year. Even since Jackdaw was approved price has gone up significantly. The fossil fuel lobby are still campaigning for us to use more gas 🤦🏻‍♂️ Renewable CfDs are fixed and all cheaper than gas.

Climate & energy crank @7Kiwi saying he hates cheap⚡️ He terms wind power on windy days as low value. Low value to whom David? Most of us would love all our⚡️ to be cheap which is what we are trying to do building out renewables. Low value to the FF industry maybe 🤡

More utter nonsense from crank @latimeralder He makes everything on climate about immediate human death to hide the long term harms to health, QoL, economy & nature. ~ 1.5 million people die from wildfire air pollution each year. 7-8 million including fossil fuel pollution.

More utter crank nonsense from @latimeralder Oil & gas companies are profitable because they have locked in dependence to their products for which they receive subsidies/tax breaks & charge a fortune for. And because you have fools like Alder eager to part with their money.

11.5 million extra deaths doesn’t even pass brainwashed crank @latimeralder ‘s “so what” test. Remind you of anyone?

The chart lying crank @latimeralder uses to claim people are safer from climate risks than ever is utter crank nonsense It says around 10-20K died of climate related disasters in the 2020’s 60K died in the heat waves of 2023 & 40K this year in Europe He’s lying. It’s going up.

Time to repost this as the people die more from cold than heat crowd are advocating again that heating the whole planet saves lives. Yes they really are saying that. If that were really the case why isn’t every medical organisation in the world pressing for AGW. This is why.
Many cranks say heating the whole planet is good because more people die of cold than heat. Is this strictly true? Not really. Let me explain why not and why heating the whole planet will lead to more temperature related death. 🧵

This is such a sloppy and misleading argument. Uses very outdated data. Falsely blends residential and industrial rates to mislead (for example Norway). Leaves out regional grids such as Texas, which would disprove the argument as Texas has high wind and solar and very low rates.

Africa is on track to install a RECORD 17 GW of solar capacity in 2026, a 45% increase from the year before ☀️📈 Ensuring grid financing at #COP31 could turn this solar boom into wider access to electricity across the region 🌍 ember-energy.org/latest-insi…

Climate change brings more frequent & more intense storms. More frequent & more intense heat waves. Yet we are told net zero is the biggest threat to power supply. Clearly it’s not. That would reduce the increasing incidence of this. Argue with reality climate cranks.

Oil. Filthy stuff. Usually polluting our atmosphere this time polluting our oceans and beaches directly killing wildlife. Good job EVs are starting to destroy demand for this filthy stuff. Can’t come too soon.

For those who don’t think fossil fuels are on their way out look at this chart showing their demise in global electricity generation due to renewables. Next comes using that clean electricity for heating/transport where the fossil demand destruction really begins😅 ⏰

Who was the clown 🤡 that keeps telling us fossil fuels are cheap? Or I should say clowns 🤡 🤡🤡 In contrast a CfD for renewables is fixed for 20 years (+CPI). The price is stable and is guaranteed not to rise outside of inflation.
Prices, since start of the year. European natural gas: +233% UK natural gas: +212% Heating oil: +134% Brent crude: +91% Gasoline: +87% US crude oil: +79% Coal: +40%

Anyone telling you we can “just adapt” while continuing to expand fossil-fuel use is misleading you. The IPCC is explicit: adaptation has limits, some ecosystems have already reached them, and further warming makes adaptation less effective. That argument serves fossil-fuel interests by leaving everyone else to bear the consequences. We need adaptation and emissions cuts. Pretending the first can replace the second is dangerous.

Energy cranks tell us NZ is going to bring us power cuts. We are still waiting for those. Reality is it’s the increasing frequency & intensity of extreme weather/storms/heatwaves that are the biggest threat to power supply. The data proves it. NOT NZ is the biggest threat.

Pretty much all due to Theo price of gas fired generation. Those red bars are what is getting paid to gas.
It will be near to £30 million cost on the Balancing Mechanism by close of play today.

Some good news this week… 🔋🌊⚡ All 170 Tesla Megapacks are now installed at Ørsted’s Iceni battery project near Norwich, with commissioning underway. At 300 MW / 600 MWh, it will be one of Europe’s largest batteries, sharing a grid connection with Hornsea 3: the world’s largest single offshore wind farm when completed, with 2.9 GW of generating capacity. The battery can deliver its full 300 MW for two hours, storing surplus renewable electricity for when demand rises. British wind, backed by storage. Less gas burned, less exposure to volatile fossil fuel prices. This is what building energy security looks like. orsted.co.uk/media/newsroom/… #Wind #NetZero #Climate #Energy

AGW isn’t the answer to increased life span. Every study ever performed shows AGW results in more deaths than any reductions from an increase in mild temperatures. Anyone who claims AGW is going to result in fewer deaths is lying on behalf of the fossil fuel industry.
