Today Marks 27 Years Since the Introduction of Sharia Law in Zamfara State. Islamic scholars and followers across Nigeria’s northern states spent a long time advocating for the implementation of Sharia law in different parts of the country. Following calls from Muslim faithful, the then Governor of Zamfara State, Ahmad Sani Yerima Bakura, announced that Zamfara State would begin implementing an Islamic Sharia legal system on October 27, 1999.
Zamfara State became the first state to officially launch Sharia law on January 27, 2000. Kano State followed, with its then Governor, Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, introducing Sharia law in June 2000. Sokoto and Katsina States followed Kano later in 2000, introducing the Sharia legal system in their respective states. Bauchi, Borno, Jigawa, Kebbi, and Yobe States also joined the other states that introduced Sharia law in 2001. Meanwhile, Kaduna, Niger, and Gombe States introduced Sharia law in certain parts of their territories, particularly in areas with Muslim majorities, because these states have diverse religious populations. Muslim communities expressed immense joy at the introduction of Sharia law at the time.

Police Officer: “You claim this man stole ₦8 million from your shop?”
Victim: “Yes, officer. The money was in my office safe. I discovered it missing this morning, and my CCTV showed him entering the office last night.”
Thief: “Officer, I didn’t steal ₦8 million. I only took ₦500,000.”
Victim: “You only took ₦500,000? So you’re admitting you stole my money?”
Thief: “I was going to return it. I swear, I had no intention of keeping it.”
Police Officer: “You broke into his office, opened his safe, and took money that didn’t belong to you. And now you want us to believe you intended to return it?”
Thief: “Officer, please. I was desperate. My mother is sick, and the hospital demanded money before they could continue her treatment.”
Victim: “That’s a lie! If you needed money, you could have asked me. I’ve known you for three years. You used to work in my shop!”
Thief: “I was ashamed to ask you.”
Victim: “But you weren’t ashamed to steal from me?”
The officer opened a notebook and began writing.
Police Officer: “You said you took ₦500,000. What happened to the remaining ₦7.5 million?”
The thief lowered his head.
Thief: “I didn’t take the remaining money.”
Victim: “Then who did? The CCTV shows you entering my office alone!”
Thief: “I took ₦500,000 from the safe. But when I opened it, the other money was already missing.”
The victim stared at him.
Victim: “What are you talking about?”
Thief: “I worked in your shop for three years. I know how you arrange your money. That safe usually contains more than ₦8 million. Last night, when I opened it, there was only ₦500,000 left.”

My sister is getting married next week. While helping her pack, I discovered a small box containing these items hidden among her clothes. She snatched the box from me and started crying. Should I ask her about it again? 💔

Manager: “I'm sorry, but we're terminating your employment effective immediately.”
Employee: “Today? Christmas is next week.”
Manager: “It's a business decision.”
Employee: “I've worked here for seven years. I've never missed a shift.”
Manager: “I understand, but the decision is final.”
Employee: “Can I at least receive my outstanding salary? My children are expecting Christmas gifts.”
Manager: “Payroll will handle what you're owed.”
The employee stood up, gathered his belongings, and walked toward the door.
Before leaving, he turned around………….

Corporate logic is a different level of comedy. 😂
Manager: Why didn’t you raise this issue earlier?
Employee: I did. I sent you the issue and a proposed solution last month.
Manager: Why didn’t you follow up?
Employee: I sent you a follow-up email two weeks ago.
Manager: Then why didn’t you call me to check if I had read it?
Employee: Should I also come to your house and read it aloud at bedtime?
Manager: You need to take more ownership.
Employee: Absolutely.
Manager: “HR wants to know why you refused to finish the presentation last night.”
Gen Z Employee: “Because it was 11:47 p.m., and I clocked out at 5.”
Manager: “You knew the deadline was this morning. Sometimes you have to make sacrifices to succeed.”
Employee: “I finished my assigned slides before leaving. You added 18 more slides at 4:52 p.m. and called it a small revision.”
HR: “Let’s keep this professional. Your manager says you’re becoming difficult to work with.”
Employee: “Can you show me one deadline I’ve missed or one assignment I’ve refused during working hours?”
HR: “That’s not the point. We expect flexibility from our employees.”
Employee: “Does that flexibility work both ways? Because when I requested two hours off for my dental appointment, I was told to use vacation time.”
Manager: “You’re making this personal.”
Employee: “No, I’m explaining why I stopped treating this job like a personal relationship.”
HR: “Your manager also mentioned that you didn’t respond to his messages over the weekend.”…
The 14-hour stats for @RebateLaunch are out, and the most interesting number isn't the market cap. It's the 97 million bonus tokens handed out.
That single figure tells you the economic engine is actually running. Buyers are getting their head start, but those bonus tokens aren't minted out of thin air. They are flowing directly out of the locked treasury, funded by the sell fees and the 99% to zero snipe tax from the trading activity.
Look at the rest of the data. 455,000 USDG traded in under a day. 1.5 million $REBATE already burned. 14 payout rounds pushed to holders' wallets, one dropping every single hour.
That hourly payout schedule is the real test of the time-weighted multiplier. It isn't just a theoretical number on a website anymore. Holders are watching the USDG hit their wallets in real time, while the platform fee quietly eats the supply and routes it into the burn pot. It's a live, functioning feedback loop.
But day one is always a frenzy. 902 holders and 8 community launches in 14 hours is a strong start. The hard question is what those exact same metrics look like on day three or day seven, when the initial launch crowd moves on and the trading volume normalizes.
If the hourly payouts and the token burn can survive a quieter week, then the economics are genuinely sustainable. If they only work while the hype is peaking, then it's just a brilliantly designed opening act.
Day one isn't over, but the contract is doing exactly what it was programmed to do.

@RebateLaunch.
My fiancée left me three weeks before our wedding because she believed I had cheated on her. I spent months trying to prove I hadn't, but the screenshots she showed me looked so convincing that she refused to hear anything I said.
Three years later, she showed up at my apartment with a folder in her hands and asked me a question I had waited years to hear.
"Did you ever send these messages to another woman?"
I stared at the screenshots. I recognized them immediately.
"No," I said. "You know I didn't."
She sat down slowly, opened the folder, and pulled out a printed email.
"I know that now."
We had been together for almost five years before everything fell apart. I met her at a friend's birthday dinner, and within a year, we were living together. We had started planning our wedding, arguing over guest lists, and saving for a house.

For 19 years, his wife had been teaching him Mandarin.
“Have you eaten?” was “你吃了吗?”
“Good morning” was “早安.”
And “I love you” was “我爱你.”
He was terrible at remembering them.
“Say it again, Mei Ling.”
She’d laugh. “Aiyooo, abang. We’ve been married for 19 years. You still cannot remember?”
He’d grin and kiss her forehead.
“That’s why I married you. Free Mandarin lessons for life.”
Then she got sick.
During her final months, she became quieter. Some days, speaking exhausted her.
