Some signatures mean more than an autograph… Signing on these copies is more than just autographing for me. It is a proof of life that I got to witness 25 years of something I watched start from a mare idea.
'Legacy For My Village'—a true journey of hope, resilience, and transformation. Growing up amid challenges in my rural community, I witnessed the struggles of orphans and families left behind by hardship. This book chronicles my determination to build lasting change: schools, opportunities, and a brighter future for the children of my village. Through personal trials, global support, and unwavering faith, I share how one promise sparked a movement of compassion that continues to uplift generations. Legacy For My Village is not just my story—it is a call to action for anyone who believes one person can leave an enduring mark. Join me in celebrating the power of community and the legacy we create together.
Celebrate with us this Friday at the #NyakaLegacyGalaDinner, held at Mestil Hotel & Residences! We're honoring #NyakaAt25Years and simultaneously launching #LegacyForMyVillage during this exciting event.

When you see me on the streets of Kampala bambi dont beat 😀. E Greece navuddeyo I am now back home.
Let me sit somewhere and autograph some good copies of a 'Legacy For My Village.' You all need to take some copies home when you come for #NyakaLegacyGalaDinner.
Arrived in #NYC to support and cheer 25 runners on #nyakateam2026 thanks you @nycmarathon for partnering with @NyakaGlobal @NyakaFinanceM since 2018!
Well done! non profit leaders MUST stay away from taking loans to execute their work or using NGO assets as their personal items. You cannot use your org assets to get personal or any loans and pose as a leader doing community work. I wish you had told me to participate in those sessions so I can learn more.
All @NyakaGlobal assets belong to her. And trust me Nyaka has millions of dollars in assets. @NyakaFinanceM is 99% owned by Nyaka and 1% because BOU requires more than one shareholder.
Thank you for holding that session.🙏🏾
You Don’t Flip a Switch
“You need to start making your own money!”
Nonprofit leaders hear this advice everywhere. Sometimes it even comes with an even starker warning: Diversify or die!
It’s sound advice - yes. But there is something we don’t talk about enough:
The journey from knowing what needs to change to actually making that change.
Many nonprofit organizations have spent decades relying on donor funding. We’ve built our systems, developed our skills, hired our people and shaped our thinking around this model.
Changing that doesn’t happen overnight. And resilience is about much more than money.
It requires us to rethink and reshape our organizations. How we govern. How we use data. How we tell our stories. The policies we develop that support this transformation. How we prepare for leadership transitions. How we understand and mobilize the resources already available to us.
It’s a whole organizational shift.
At the recent NGO Risk, Compliance and Resilience Conference organized by Onyango and Company Advocates and @civicadvisory, I had the privilege of sharing @CivsourceAfrica’s own journey.
Ours is far from a perfect story. Sometimes I feel like we’ve only taken two steps in nine years!
We’ve had people ask us hard questions. We’ve had coaches and mentors challenge our assumptions. We’ve had to unlearn, experiment, make mistakes and try again.
And we’re still learning.
One thing I’ve come to appreciate is that changing an organization means changing the thinking of the people within it. And people don’t all change at the same pace.
Leaders must bring their staff, boards and sometimes members along on this journey. That takes time, intentionality, patience and sometimes difficult conversations.
I’m not making excuses for nonprofit leaders. I’m simply saying that building resilience is not like flipping a switch.
It’s a process. It’s rarely linear. And because the nonprofit sector is not homogeneous, there is no single pathway that will work for everyone.
I also reminded my fellow leaders at the conference that ours is a sector that knows change.
We are constantly navigating changing circumstances, shifting priorities, new challenges and uncertain environments. We’ve learned to adapt, to adjust and to keep going.
We are not starting from zero.
We can draw on what we already know about managing change. The tools, the lessons, the experience of bringing people along, managing resistance and navigating uncertainty. All of these can serve us as we build more resilient organizations.
So yes, let’s keep challenging nonprofit leaders to build resilience.
Let’s also appreciate what it takes. The learning. The unlearning. The experimentation. The mistakes. The small steps that sometimes feel painfully slow.
Knowing that we must change is one thing. Learning how to change is another.

And I was like; Yeahhh! I am a proud Ugandan 🇺🇬. Unfortunately our fellow countrymen do not acknowledge that fact.

By the way AI is good but you do not use it with care, it ruins you. For example those AI flyers is not a good idea. Please stay away from them if you really care for your brand.

My oldest is turning 15 in 2 weeks. How time flys! What kind of appropriate gift would you get a 15 year old boy; a first born? I am not so big into birthdays but some ages seem special.
PS: When he turned 7, the two of us did a father — son trip for 2 nights. He still remembers.
Observing the Accelerated Pace of the Year and Choosing to Pursue It Actively
The following day after our #LegacyDinner. USA edition switched us to yet another significant event: the @NyakaGlobal USA board meeting, conveniently held at a hotel near my Okemos residence.
Christine Mason, our esteemed board chair, skillfully presided over the discussions, guiding us through various important agenda items.
Later, the official proceedings simultaneously passed us on to another segment which was dinner.
We all gathered at my house for a delightful dinner.
Rocco, with his culinary talent, prepared an exquisite Italian feast that everyone thoroughly enjoyed.
Such a perfect blend of professional accomplishment and personal connection it was.
We left well prepared ready to winde 2026 down.
It's a new week yet gain! And if you ask me if I have any nugget to take us through, I will tell you to keep learning. Because trust me someone who learns without telling anyone will suddenly be new and shock everyone mumaaso awo.

Celebrating 25 years of @NyakaGlobal !
What an unforgettable night we had yesterday in East Lansing, Michigan
It was indeed a beautiful evening of reflection, honoring the amazing partnerships and dedicated people who have made this 25 year journey a reality. We took the opportunity to look back on our impact and excitedly plan for the next chapter of community-led development.
It couldn't feel more exciting than this being in one room with individuals who have had continuous sleepless nights, and sometimes skipping meals to have this dream thrive with 23,929 grandmothers. 96,000+ children supported holistically.
A heartfelt thank you to every single person who has been part of the #NyakaStory, for our children's sake!
🥂To #25YearsOfImpact, and to all the exciting possibilities still to come! #NyakaAt25Years
Today is the day for Nyaka Global's 25-year celebration in Michigan, USA! Nyaka has spent 25 years making a real change for many children in Uganda, helping them get an education.
