The latest cost estimate of the Iran war stands at $47.1 billion as of Oct. 16. That doesn’t include damage to bases, which the Pentagon separately priced at a minimum of $5 billion. That number could potentially be as high as $15 billion.

FACT: The annual funding Israel receives from the US amounts to less than one-tenth of 1% of the federal budget. Less than 1/10th of 1%.
FACT: That annual funding would cover only a few hours of federal health care spending. A few hours.
Yet politicians who specialize in scapegoating would have you believe that Israel is responsible for America’s affordability crisis.
Like every form of scapegoating before it, it is a dangerous lie.

Today we remember the deadliest antisemitic attack in American history. On October 27, 2018, eleven Jewish Americans were murdered while attending Sabbath morning services at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, PA. We stand in solidarity with Pittsburgh’s Jewish community, the Tree of Life, Dor Hadash, and New Light congregations, and the families and friends of those whose lives were stolen from us.
As threats against Jews are increasing in the US and around the world, we must continue to combat antisemitism, hate, bigotry and prejudice towards any group and do everything we can to ensure everyone in America can confidently practice their faith in safety and security.

As we mark 43 years since #Hezbollah bombed the Marine barracks in Beirut, killing 241 American and 58 French peacekeepers, I honor those today working for peace between Lebanon and Israel, and for a better future in the region. Blessed are the peacemakers.
So how is this organization still allowed to maintain 501 C3 status? Tax exempt status is a privilege not a right. @SenRickScott had it right. rickscott.senate.gov/2026/6/…
New investigation reveals CODEPINK co-founder Medea Benjamin had contact with two men later sanctioned by the US for facilitating Iranian intel operations. An intelligence source even claims the Islamic Republic viewed her as an “asset” for spreading its narratives in the West.

Congress should press the administration to complete the review and restore full OPCW and IAEA funding before essential verification and elimination efforts are curtailed, argues @StrickerNonpro:

Professional enablers of sanctions evasion beware. The U.S. government is warning that the lawyers and law firms setting up shell companies, facilitating opacity re: America's adversaries, etc. are not off limits.
And to be honest, sanctioning a non-Iranian law firm for operating in the petroleum and petrochemical sectors of the Iranian economy is kinda sick.
Today, as part of Operation Economic Outcast, Treasury sanctioned Panama- and Greece-based law firm Karnakis and Karnakis, shipping agents, and vessels which have supported illicit Iranian shipping activity, indirectly aiding Tehran’s ability to generate revenue to fund its military, weapons, and nuclear programs. Throughout Operation Economic Outcast, Treasury has continued to coordinate with counterparts in Europe and around the world to sever the Iranian regime’s remaining economic lifelines.

The OPCW does not suffer from the ills of other international organizations. It inspects, monitors, and delivers on riding the world of chemical weapons in the hands of malign actors. It should be funded immediately for the good it does for U.S. national security and the security of our allies.
I did some digging into concerning delays by Washington in funding critical WMD verification agencies—the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons @OPCW and International Atomic Energy Agency @iaeaorg.
Congress should request more information from @SecRubio and @michaelgwaltz. fdd.org/analysis/washington-…
"According to a new federal indictment, the forensic software used by the Pentagon, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Secret Service was purchased from a company that hid its Russian ownership through layers of shell companies," write Tyler Stapleton & @FDD_CEFP's Josh Birenbaum in @TheNatlInterest:

US cannot successfully combat illicit finance and money laundering until we get our own house in order. To do that, we need to prevent anonymous companies with secret owners from engaging in criminal behavior without a way to know who is responsible. nationalinterest.org/feature…
The Trump administration is throwing away leverage it has with the Kremlin. The diesel deal, the waiving of the Graham bill, and the request to hold European sanctioned assets are capitulations to Putin.

Russia, China, and Iran targeting U.S. political discourse ahead of the midterm elections. X shutting down thousands of inauthentic accounts supporting state propaganda efforts.
People come to X to talk about what's happening in the world, including the upcoming 2026 US midterms. Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and we are proud that X is the global town square where these debates happen. Our job is to keep that conversation authentic, open, and safe.
To ensure these fundamental values are protected during elections, our Safety team uses a variety of detection methods to proactively find and act on activity that breaks the X Rules. These measures build on the safety protections we run 24/7, year-round. X's Authenticity Policy is particularly important to this work. Whether it is spam networks or entities engaged in influence operations, we are actively working to identify and stop coordinated inauthentic behavior that undermines the integrity of our platform.
Through proactive sweeps and investigations, X recently identified and suspended more than 13,000 accounts involved in three suspected foreign influence operations linked to Iran, Russia, and China that targeted US political conversation. The networks used inauthentic accounts to post and amplify content about US politics, targeting candidates and public figures across the political spectrum.
X's Civic Integrity policy addresses misleading content that could affect participation in elections or other civic processes. This includes content that may confuse people about how, when, or where to participate, or that aims to discourage participation. X relies on Community Notes, which let people add context and credible sources, alongside platform moderation. Users can report content under "Civic Integrity" in our in-app reporting flow, and their submission will be routed to request a Community Note, a collaborative way to add helpful context to posts and keep people better informed. Additionally, in critical escalations, X may apply a Civic Integrity label to posts that violate our policy.
We remain committed to X as a global town square where people openly debate topics of public interest and engage with election-related information. Our work continues through Election Day and beyond.

China is making a huge mistake. These missile-part exports damage the economy of every country in the world. They drive up the cost of petroleum, and China is the number one importer of petroleum.
