Over the past year - been taking my diet and fitness to a higher level. As a measure of progress did a Memorial Day Murph workout, bodyweight in 39:40!
For those unfamiliar - 1 mile run, 100 pull ups, 200 push ups, 300 air squats, 1 mile run.

Got asked how stream processing platforms (e.g. Apache Flink, Kafka Streams, Spark Structured Streaming) compare to streaming databases (e.g. RisingWave, Materialize, PranaDB). There's some overlap and similarities, but also differences. Here's some aspects which may help 1/10

Most app sec vendors are "shifting left".
@OxeyeSecurity's novel approach to app sec is holistic: build a context graph that interconnects every dimension of the app - from runtime, to architecture, to code, to pipeline, and then pinpoint every issue.
Today - had to convert a file into a LinkedList of characters that can be turned into a stream. Easy to count distinct. I just completed "Tuning Trouble" - Day 6 - Advent of Code 2022 adventofcode.com/2022/day/6 #AdventOfCode
Day 5 took a bit of time. I wanted to create an array of Queues in Java, and you are not allowed to create an array of Generics. HashMap worked instead.
I just completed "Supply Stacks" - Day 5 - Advent of Code 2022 adventofcode.com/2022/day/5 #AdventOfCode
Today's was simpler than yesterday's. Though I want to rewrite it using Java record structures.
I just completed "Camp Cleanup" - Day 4 - Advent of Code 2022 adventofcode.com/2022/day/4 #AdventOfCode
Got started with a blank machine at 7:30. 3 hours to setup VS code, get java installed, "re"-learn the language and get through first 6 exercises. Streams took some time to grok!
Day 3 - Advent of Code 2022 adventofcode.com/2022/day/3 #AdventOfCode
Always fun doing the Advent of Code. Last year was Rust. 2020 was Golang. This year is Java 19. "Calorie Counting" - Day 1 - Advent of Code 2022 adventofcode.com/2022/day/1 #AdventOfCode

This risk is why I previously advised all of the startups that I invest in to avoid having their engineers use Copilot.
