This paragraph by Kobe Bryant hits hard:
“Everyone wants to be a beast. Everyone wants to be the best. But very few people are willing to do what it actually takes. Because what it takes is boring. It is waking up at 4:00 AM. It is shooting the same shot a thousand times. It is watching the film when you are tired. People fall in love with the result, but they hate the process. You have to fall in love with the boredom. You have to fall in love with the repetition. If you can find joy in the mundane work that no one else sees, the lights will eventually shine on you.”

He went to Cal, has lectured at MIT and Harvard, while also speaking multiple languages. He's 100% the smartest person in a room.
NBA sources believe Jaylen Brown thinks he’s the smartest person in the room, per @colincowherd
“I had two NBA sources … two people in the league, one an executive, one a scout, say that Jaylen Brown has — it’s a disease. He suddenly thinks he’s the smartest guy in every room he’s in … You make a lot of money, suddenly you’re absolutely sure, you don’t wanna listen to your bosses, you don’t wanna listen to consultants, you don’t wanna listen to teammates.”

In school, they teach you a lesson and give you a test.
The real world gives you a test then teaches you a lesson.

Asked #Illini Kylan Boswell about his NBA meetings (all workouts are post-Combine):
"I've met with 27, 28 teams ... A team isn't picking me up because they need me to go out there and score for them. My job is ... guard the best way I can, have the right mentality, facilitate."
