After returning from @ethereum_mexico here's what I noticed: 1st The demographic of crypto-curious people is late 30s, 40s, or early 20s there's a gap in between. 2nd Students know about blockchain but not the types of ecosystems, big opportunity to onboard them. Many students feel crypto seems “too good to be true,” when it's just a great opportunity that feels that way. Same for developers: tons of curiosity, but not enough awareness of tools or resources. There's barely any Spanish educational content for beginners, yet interest is extremely high. For perspective, we planned an event in 10 minutes, posted a Luma link, and got 38 RSVPs in under five minutes all students. They were super interested because such opportunities aren't normal for them. 3rd The country's financial infrastructure has a disconnect. Many small businesses use local payment platforms unknown to foreigners that's a massive opportunity. Especially for the World Cup: imagine onboarding small businesses to crypto, teaching them to accept payments, and promoting it citywide it's a no-brainer. 4th Everyone uses WhatsApp. Implementing phone numbers as wallet addresses (like ENS but with numbers) could be the move. Overall, people in Mexico are open to crypto they just don’t understand it or know where to start. The opportunity is insane, but few are building for it.
