Silence is a choice.
Does Alberta NDP leader Naheed Nenshi denounce federal NDP leader Avi Lewis’s attack on the Pacific Link pipeline, or does he support it?
Albertans deserve to know.

For the first time, Etihad Airways has landed and taken off from Alberta as they officially launched their direct flight between Calgary and Abu Dhabi. The creation of this flight comes after years of Premier Danielle Smith and other members of our government building strong relations with the United Arab Emirates, which shares Alberta’s reputation as a global energy hub.
This flight connects our two jurisdictions and opens pathways for businesses to expand their markets and partnerships around the world. As well, it allows more people to visit our beautiful province, offering a welcome boost to our visitor economy.
Thank you to Etihad Airways, Calgary Airports, Tourism Calgary, and all others who helped make this direct flight a reality. Alberta looks forward to growing its economic ties with the UAE for years to come.

British Columbians have chosen a common-sense conservative government to put the province on the right track.
Congratulations to premier-elect Lorne Doerkson and his conservative team! 👏👏👏
Congratulations to Lorne Doerksen @LDoerkson on becoming the next Premier of British Columbia.
Alberta and British Columbia share strong economic ties and common interests, from trade and energy to transportation and economic growth. I look forward to working with Premier designate Doerksen on shared priorities and advancing the interests of people in both provinces, including unleashing Canada’s potential as an energy superpower.
I also want to acknowledge David Eby @Dave_Eby for his service as Premier. While we did not always see eye to eye, I appreciated the opportunity to work together on issues important to both provinces.

Our injured soldiers are receiving the very best care.
Spent time at Calgary’s Foothills hospital with many of the doctors, nurses and health care workers who are with them around the clock. Their dedication is incredible!
To every one of these soldiers, Alberta is with you for the whole road to recovery.

This morning, I joined Premier @ABDanielleSmith, Minister @AdrianaLaGrange and Acute Care Alberta CEO Dr. Sayeh Zielke to announce how our government is preparing hospitals for respiratory virus season.
We’re expanding access to continuing care and home care, while working to help patients who no longer need hospital care transition safely to more appropriate settings.
That means better care for patients and more hospital beds available for those who need them most.

More pipelines mean more opportunities for our oilsands.
ATB Chief Economist Mark Parsons says new pipeline capacity “clears the way for oilsands producers to invest in expansions and new greenfield projects.”
More investment. More growth. More opportunity for Alberta.

A packed last 24 hours across Calgary.
Attended the launch of the Alberta Business Alliance, a new voice bringing industries and entrepreneurs together to help keep Alberta the most competitive place in Canada to do business.
Sat down with Mayor Jeromy Farkas @JeromyYYC to refocus the relationship between the province and Calgary. And for the record, Calgary got it right by pressing pause on blanket rezoning and listening to its residents first.
Finished tonight with the CEOs at the Business Council of Alberta @BizCouncilAB, talking about what comes next. Alberta is leading the country in economic growth, job creation and housing starts, and the largest pipeline buildout in decades is underway. The job now is to keep that momentum going.

Earlier this week I visited Wainwright Health Centre and Wainwright EHS to meet with hospital teams and the families of victims in Edmonton with ACA CEO Dr. Sayeh Zielke.
In an incredibly difficult situation, extraordinary teams of EMS paramedics, firefighters, nurses, doctors, allied health and support staff, and health administrators from ACA, AHS, and Covenant Health stepped up, worked together and did everything they could to help those who needed them. I can’t say enough about the incredible people working in our hospitals and emergency services, and how grateful we are for everything they did and continue to do to support the care of victims in hospital.
My prayers remain with the Canadian Armed Forces members, their families and everyone in the Wainwright community affected by this tragedy.

Looking back on Alberta Day this year, I’m reminded of what makes this province such a special place to call home.
From the events in Edmonton and Calgary to celebrations in communities across Alberta, it was great to see almost 70 municipalities take part and bring people together.
On October 19, Albertans took part in an important moment for our province, voting in a referendum and choosing to stand up for Alberta’s interests while remaining part of Canada.
I’m proud to be part of a government that believes in building a strong Alberta within a united Canada. By working together, we can help Canada reach its full potential while ensuring Alberta’s priorities remain front and centre.
Thank you once again to everyone who helped make Alberta Day a success.

#FlashbackFriday to last week when I had the privilege of attending the grand opening of Kennedy Terrace at D'Arcy in Okotoks.
Funded through Alberta's Affordable Housing Partnership Program, this project is providing more affordable housing for those in our community.
At the same time, it will serve as a lasting tribute and reminder of the incredible contributions of former @townofokotoks mayor and community volunteer Sandi Kennedy to make our community a stronger, more connected place.
Thank you to all who made this project possible!
A warm welcome to @WalmartCanada Supercentre's newest location in Fort McMurray!
It was great to join community leaders, business representatives, and residents in celebrating the opening of this significant addition to our region.

Congratulations to Mayor Jackie Clayton, City Council, Chief Dwayne Lakusta, the Grande Prairie Police Commission, and all the officers, civilian staff, and community partners whose dedication made this day possible.
This is your police service Grande Prairie, one built on a shared commitment to safety, respect, and local priorities. Here is to a safer, stronger future for the community.
As of yesterday morning, the Grande Prairie Police Service has assumed full policing responsibility for the city, with 80 sworn officers now serving their own community. It is the first time in more than 70 years that an Alberta city has stood up its own municipal police force.
Grande Prairie has grown into one of the most dynamic cities in this province, and a city of that strength deserves a police service built for its own streets, by people who know them. Our government was proud to support this transition, which was completed two full years ahead of schedule.
Thank you to Minister Mike Ellis @MikeEllisUCP, MLA Nolan Dyck @NolanDyckAB, MLA Ron Wiebe for supporting this transition and congratulations to Mayor Jackie Clayton @JClaytonJackie, Chief Dwayne Lakusta, the Grande Prairie Police Commission and every officer who put on the uniform this week. Serve with honour. Your province is behind you.
