What's happening? Where do we get an official answer as to what counties places are in? Not expecting an answer. Just thought to pop the question. Guessing there is a hard-core of resolute civil servants somewhere who are convinced that eg Manchester went in Greater Wigan in 74.

So why the map then? Belfast didn't appear to be referenced to any county on a quick search. We must be sure the reference is the county one.

Re recent press coverage, at 11.33 gbnews.com/shows/sunday-with… Pam says: I'm still unhappy as the Government sent agents round, to FORCE us all to 'give up our traditional county'. Using only the new name, and later telling everyone that the new county names have always existed.

Councils should have nothing to do with counties. They should not pretend to be counties. We need to break this idea in people's minds. There is absolutely ZERO chance of Bristol south of the Avon being split from the rest of it and joined to a 'Somerset council'.
