A valuable opportunity to observe the training and development of the next generation of Nigerian infanteers.
During a visit to the Nigerian Army School of Infantry, the Joint Counter Terrorism Training and Advisory Team observed parachuting led by the Commandant, Maj Gen MN Inuwa, alongside live-firing and physical training.
The visit showcased the professionalism and demanding preparation required for future operations, while reinforcing the strong UK-Nigeria defence partnership and our commitment to continued cooperation.

Lessons Learned, Stronger Operations.
Completion of the Lessons Learned Course at the National Defence College, Abuja, marks an important step in strengthening institutional learning, operational effectiveness and adaptability.
Capturing lessons from experience helps identify gaps, embed best practice and improve responses to emerging challenges and evolving threats posed by Violent Extremist Organisations.

On behalf of the British Government and Ministry of Defence, we extend our heartfelt condolences to all those who lost their lives in yesterday's tragic aircraft crash in Ondo State.
We stand with the Nigerian Armed Forces and the people of Nigeria during this period of national mourning.
@DefenceHQ @UKinNigeria
Yesterday, Nigeria lost brave men and women of our Air Force in the service of our country.
This is a painful moment for our Armed Forces and for the entire nation. Our Air Force personnel put their lives on the line every day to secure Nigeria. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.
Behind every uniform is a family. A spouse, a child, a parent, a brother or sister who expected their loved one home. Nigeria grieves with them.
I have declared three days of national mourning and directed that our flags be flown at half-mast throughout the country in honour of those we have lost.
The Chief of Air Staff has briefed me, and I have directed the Nigerian Air Force to immediately commence a thorough investigation into the cause of the crash to prevent future occurrences.
I also commend the Nigerian Air Force for activating an immediate search and rescue operation following the accident.
We honour their service. We remember their sacrifice.
May the souls of our departed heroes rest in peace.
