Today, Ms. Dima Al-Khatib, Director of the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (#UNOSSC), updated the #AfricanGroupUN on the 23rd Session of the High-Level Committee on South-South Cooperation. This committee, part of the @UN General Assembly, meets every two years to assess South-South and triangular cooperation. She highlighted key milestones for the June 2027 session, discussed how Member States can engage, and requested feedback on themes for reviewing the Buenos Aires outcome document. Two main themes proposed are:
1️⃣ From Commitment to Impact: Scalling South-South and Triangular Cooperation for Sustainable Development.
2️⃣ A New Era of Collaborative Resilience: Repositioning South-South Cooperation to Bridge the Global Devide.
Member states were encouraged to participate in preparatory meetings.

As the dialogue concluded in New York, one message stood out: South-South & Triangular Cooperation must move beyond individual initiatives and become part of how African countries plan, finance and implement development.
From stronger national frameworks to youth-led innovation, African countries can deepen cooperation by sharing solutions, expertise and experience.
As 2030 approaches, stronger African ownership and partnerships will be critical to accelerating the #SDGs and #Agenda2063.

The Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat), in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, is organizing a high-level interactive dialogue titled:
“Bahrain’s Digital Transformation Journey: National Human Development Report”
The event will take place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly. It will bring together a distinguished group of senior officials, United Nations leaders, policymakers, and international partners to present the key preliminary findings of Bahrain’s National Human Development Report on digital transformation. It will also highlight the Kingdom’s national approach, institutional capabilities, and partnerships aimed at harnessing technological advancement to promote human development.

Safeguarding civilian digital infrastructure requires more than technical solutions, it requires cooperation, resilience and shared responsibility.
At the DCO Breakfast High-Level Roundtable, “Critical Civilian Digital Infrastructure: Safeguarding Agency, Resilience, and the Public Interest,” held during the 2nd Digital Cooperation Day with UN ODET on the sidelines of #UNGA81, DCO Secretary-General Deemah AlYahya highlighted the need to protect the digital systems societies increasingly depend on and to move digital cooperation from dialogue to practical action.

En el 81.º período de sesiones de la Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas #UNGA81, la Embajadora Lina Eugenia Ajoy Rojas (@AjoyLina) sostuvo una reunión con la Directora de la Oficina de las Naciones Unidas para la Cooperación Sur-Sur (UNOSSC), Dima Al-Khatib.
En este espacio, exploraron oportunidades de fortalecer la relación SICA-UNOSSC, para impulsar una alianza estratégica en Cooperación Sur-Sur y Triangular. En ese sentido, la Secretaria General Ajoy Rojas destacó que durante su gestión priorizará esta modalidad de cooperación, con el objetivo de aprovechar las capacidades existentes en la región, promover soluciones compartidas y generar nuevas alianzas.
Como parte del encuentro, conversaron sobre la oportunidad para dinamizar la cooperación con una visión de largo plazo centrada en el intercambio de conocimientos, capacidades, innovación y buenas prácticas entre países del Sur; así como fortalecer las capacidades del SICA en la gestión del conocimiento, sistematización y escalamiento de experiencias compartidas, posicionando al SICA en foros internacionales.
Además, la SG-SICA compartió sobre la normativa regional de cooperación sur- sur aprobada por el SICA en 2023 y la iniciativa de crear una comunidad de prácticas regionales para conectar a los países miembros.
