Hey Mean Green, it’s #Crewsday! Meet Maria Lawson, one of the 2020 Homecoming Service Coordinators! Maria is a junior, double majoring in journalism and sociology. A favorite homecoming memory that Maria has is winning homecoming last year with Greek Team Five! #UNTHC2020

Today is Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day. This annual holiday commemorates the end of slavery in the United States on June 19, 1865 - 2 1/2 years after the Emancipation Proclamation - when federal troops arrived in Galveston, TX, to announce all enslaved people were freed.
Gamma Beta promises to continue to advocate for equality even after the news cycle. To all the wonderful PNMs, while we are so excited to share our sisterhood with you and promote recruitment, we understand that we must continue to stand up against inequality in our nation.
We are here and we stand with our black sisters and our black community. We must use our voices and platform to speak out against racism and injustice. Racism WILL NOT be tolerated. We encourage you to click the link in our bio and to text “Justice” to 668366 or “FLOYD” to 55156
Today we honor America’s veteran’s who have fought for our freedom. From the KD Family, thank you. 🇺🇸💫
