Online scamming is no longer a collection of isolated hackers, but a highly industrialized, multi-billion-dollar global criminal economy
Thanks @AJEnglish for putting this very well
The rapid adoption of artificial intelligence has fundamentally supercharged these operations, making scams incredibly difficult to spot.
Criminals leverage generative AI, voice cloning, and video deepfakes to eliminate traditional red flags like poor grammar or suspicious accents.
I strongly urge users to enforce a strict 10-minute pause on all urgent requests, verifying alerts through official channels instead of provided links, and using app-based authentication alongside a secret family passcode to counter voice cloning.

Telegram is a mess, and it happens to be the most popular app in Cambodia. Malware disguised as everyday files is spreading through it, and one click is all it takes. Post and Telecom Minister Chea Vandeth is warning people not to open attachments ending in .exe, .bat, .vbs, .ps1, .msi or .scr. Files named and captioned in Khmer to look legit. Government says many of the attacks trace back overseas.

FBI OPERATION RIPTIDE is an ongoing, coordinated law enforcement campaign targeting criminal actors and the key services they rely on—their infrastructure, their tools and services, their communications, and their money.
But what is "NO SAFE HARBOR"? The FBI is putting cybercriminals on notice that there is no where they can hide to escape our commitment to stopping them—not behind technology, assumed anonymity, or international borders. We will continue to work with our LE partners here and abroad to apply consistent pressure on cybercriminals, demonstrating there are no safe harbors for them or the infrastructure, platforms, and financial networks which support their activity exist anywhere. #Cyber

🚨IT’S OFFICIAL: AMERICANS COULD SOON USE BITCOIN TO GET A MORTGAGE WITHOUT EVER SELLING IT
US Federal Housing Director Bill Pulte has ordered Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to prepare to count CRYPTO as an asset for a mortgage.
That means borrowers may be able to use BTC or other crypto held on US-regulated exchanges to qualify for a home loan WITHOUT selling it first.
Currently, crypto does not count in Fannie or Freddie mortgage reserves unless it is converted to cash.
