USDA RD gets Wewoka Public Schools going with Accessible Van
Superintendent of Wewoka Public Schools, Pat Hensley (ight blue sweater) joins U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development State Director of Oklahoma, Zachary Swartz (dark blue suit), and Congresswoman Stephanie Bice (OK-05) to celebrate a USDA grant award to Wewoka Schools for a new accessible van on Oct. 23 in Wewoka, Okla.
The grant by USDA allowed the school system to finalize the purchase of the van on Oct. 21, which will allow the school to transport up to two wheelchair users. Before the USDA award the school did not have the ability to transport disabled students. USDA media by Joel Mease.

Today @VP and @SecRollins announced that ranchers across 40 states are expected to receive $57M through the Meat and Poultry Processing Expansion Program.
Through this funding, @usdaRD will invest across 147 tentative awards to help small and medium-sized independent processors expand capacity, boost market competition, and improve supply chain resiliency.

Following @POTUS' announcement of the America First Seafood Strategy, USDA is making at least $5 BILLION in loans to expand processing for American ranchers and fishermen through the Strengthening Processing for U.S. Ranchers (SPUR) Guaranteed Loan Program.
SPUR will provide a 90% loan guarantee to commercial lenders, with a maximum loan amount of $175 million and option to defer principal and interest payments for 2 years.
Today's announcement highlights USDA's commitment to supporting small, independent, and regional meat, poultry, AND seafood processing plants.
