USF Health CAMLS is taking simulation-based education to Tanzania. 🌍 Ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, faculty and simulation experts from the USF Health Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation (CAMLS) partnered with Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences to train Tanzanian faculty in simulation education, equipping them to train the next generation of emergency medicine providers and extend that knowledge across the region. By building local expertise, the partnership is helping strengthen Tanzania’s emergency medicine workforce while creating a model that can reach healthcare educators and providers far beyond the initial training. 🔗: usf.edu/health/news/2026/sim…

Nearly 75–80% of ACL injuries occur in non-contact situations, such as sudden deceleration, improper landing or awkward pivoting. USF researchers Dr. Nathan Schilaty and John Templeton are working to change that. Using artificial intelligence and wearable technology, their team is developing a system designed to identify high-risk movement patterns and provide feedback before an injury occurs.
