Just dropped anchor off of Port-au-Prince, Haiti after refueling-at-sea with the USNS Leroy Grumman. Medical care continued the whole time.
Right now we are underway for a night to get fuel for the ship and our helos. Also underway right now: 4 surgeries in our operating rooms.
Today we said goodbye to a bunch of military and NGO doctors, nurses, and translators. Don't worry: we welcomed a whole new bunch aboard!
We've now performed over 600 surgeries since arriving in Haiti Jan. 20th (644, to be exact). 13 procedures were completed on Super Sunday.
We now have 10 additional surgeons from the Orthopaedic Trauma Association. They came from all over the country to help. Welcome aboard!
