1993. Stereolab’s "French Disko" remains a flawless masterpiece. During the rise of Britpop, Stereolab brought a different, effortless energy. Laetitia’s uber cool French-English vocals. The climactic build and release of the guitars. A defiantly intellectual & infectious pop indie dance anthem. Vive la resistance! 🇫🇷

Yugoslav map of Britain & Ireland from the 1980s, with English place names amusingly rendered phonetically to reflect their pronunciation.
Credit: Reddit user TheKingMonkey who explains the maps origins:
"From a display on the wall of the ‘Museum of the 80s’ in Sarajevo, Bosnia. I’m not sure why I like the Serbo-Croat (or at least that’s what I assume it is) names for the cities as they look like they are almost phonetic attempts at English language pronunciations."

Body language 2nd hayf was telling for me. Perhaps more subconscious from the players, but there were a lot of slumped shoulders & an air of resignation. Whole club has been spiralling downwards for 10yrs and it’s permeating both players and fans. This is the year we drop I fear
