Today's Memorial Service honored the lives of Devin Chandler, Lavel Davis, Jr. and D’Sean Perry, as well as the two students injured in the shooting, Mike Hollins and Marlee Morgan. Always remember the light they share with all of us. #UVAStrong

We're ready for Day 2 of #UVAGrad! The heat hasn't left, and thunderstorms are also possible this afternoon. Read/save our Heat Management Guide to your phone. We will have shelter locations (below) open in the event of severe weather. Remember, if thunder roars, go indoors.
Protection and Prevention: drink plenty of water before/during the event, dress in loose-fitting, lightweight, & light-colored clothing, & wear sunscreen. Know the warning signs (source: weather.gov/safety/heat-illness). Heat exhaustion: signs are dizziness, thirst, heavy sweating, nausea, or weakness. Actions are: move to cooler area, loosen clothing, sip cool water, & seek help if symptoms don't improve. Heat stroke: signs are confusion, dizziness, or becomes unconscious. Actions are: Call 911, move to cooler area, loosen clothing/remove extra layers, & cool with water/ice. In case of emergency, dial 911 or notify nearest RMC Event staff/police officer.
