I leave the Republic of Korea with a sense of optimism, having participated in the 21st Jeju Forum for Peace and Prosperity and engaged with several government and other officials in a bid to be selected as the next United Nations Secretary-General. I was particularly moved by young people's interest in the work of the United Nations. As I’ve said throughout my campaign, it is clear that the UN is irreplaceable as the bastion of multilateralism but it must do things differently and better. I am personally committed to this endeavor. I express my gratitude to Foreign Minister Cho Hyun and the government and people of Korea who continue to be proponents of peace, and have shared with the world one of the most impactful multilateral figures in former Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, with whom I engaged while here. My deep appreciation to the Forum organizers for providing me with this platform. #JejuForum #UNSG2026 #CRB4UNSG

Yesterday, I welcomed the opportunity to outline my vision to the General Assembly for the @UN as a candidate for the position of Secretary-General. I also welcomed the thoughtful engagement with Member States and civil society organizations during the interactive dialogue.
