100 REASONS WHY NIGERIA NEEDS ATIKU — REASON #57! Nigeria needs a security system built on intelligence, coordination, and effective collaboration. Poor coordination among security agencies weakens our fight against insecurity and puts innocent lives at risk. Atiku Abubakar’s vision is for a more coordinated security system where intelligence is shared, agencies work together, and strategies deliver results. Our people deserve to live in peace, travel safely, and sleep without fear. Nigeria needs leadership that prioritises the safety and security of every citizen. A safer Nigeria is possible. 26 OCTOBER 2026 PRESS STATEMENT APC'S IRRESPONSIBLE FALSEHOOD CANNOT HIDE TINUBU'S FAILURES, ADC REPLIES ALAKE The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has described the latest statement by the APC Presidential Campaign Council, alleging unpaid salaries within our party, as an irresponsible falsehood and another laughable piece of cheap propaganda from a government that has failed Nigerians on every important measure of governance. We find it rather amusing that a government that has presided over one of the most painful periods of economic hardship in our country's recent history now considers itself qualified to lecture anyone about the welfare of workers. But perhaps we should not be surprised. When a government has no achievements to defend, it must manufacture allegations to discuss. "The ADC categorically rejects this allegation as an irresponsible falsehood, deliberately concocted to mislead Nigerians and distract attention from the monumental failures of the Tinubu administration. If the APC has any credible evidence to support its claims, it should produce it rather than continue to insult Nigerians with fabricated stories masquerading as press statements." We understand the APC's desperation to change the conversation. But Nigerians are not fools. The real issue is not the imaginary crisis that the APC is desperately trying to manufacture within the ADC. The real issue is the crisis that President Bola Tinubu and his government have created in the homes of millions of Nigerians. The real issue is the cost of living. The real issue is the absence of jobs and opportunities for our young people. The real issue is the insecurity that continues to threaten lives, livelihoods, and communities across the country. These are the issues on which this government must be judged, and no amount of propaganda can redeem it. "It is becoming increasingly clear that the APC has decided to run its 2027 campaign on allegations against the opposition rather than achievements of its own. That is what happens when a government has spent years making promises it cannot keep and excuses it cannot defend." We therefore advise Mr Alake and his colleagues to spend less time inventing stories about the ADC and more time explaining why Nigerians should reward their party with another term after the hardship, insecurity and economic uncertainty of the last three years. The APC may control the machinery of government, but it cannot control the lived experiences of Nigerians. And no amount of propaganda targeted at the opposition can erase the monumental record of the ruling APC. This election is about one issue only: the cost of living that the Tinubu administration has pushed beyond the reach of the majority of Nigerians. The ADC will stay focused on this issue. We will not be distracted. We will continue to hold this government accountable on the issues that matter to Nigerians. "If the APC has a record to defend, let it defend it. If it has solutions, let it present them. But it should stop insulting the intelligence of Nigerians with these increasingly desperate distractions." SIGNED: Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi

SHETTIMA, HOW DID BOLA GRADUATE BEFORE GOVERNMENT COLLEGE LAGOS EXISTED?  “While Shettima debates school records, families are skipping meals, workers cannot afford the journey to work, and his government calls their suffering reform.” At the 32nd Nigerian Economic Summit in Abuja today, Vice President Kashim Shettima had a chance to explain why Nigerians are struggling to afford fuel, transport and food. Instead, he mocked Atiku Abubakar for attending the Kano School of Hygiene. Faced with the cost of living crisis, this government’s Vice President attacked a man’s school. What, exactly, is shameful about Atiku’s education? He completed secondary school, pursued further training and built a life through work. Millions of Nigerians have travelled the same road. Their parents sacrificed to get them into the schools they could afford; they studied, worked and rose. Shettima looked at that struggle and saw something to laugh at. If Shettima wants to examine school records, he should begin with the man he serves. A document in Bola Tinubu’s Chicago State University records lists him as having graduated from Government College Lagos in 1970, four years before the school was established in 1974. Shettima should explain how a man graduates from a school before it exists, instead of mocking Atiku for attending a school whose doors were open. Then there is the question of names. The NYSC certificate Tinubu submitted to INEC bears the name “Tinubu Bola Adekunle.” Atiku has challenged that discrepancy in court. Shettima cannot ridicule Atiku’s documented schooling while refusing to address questions about the name on his principal’s certificate. Tinubu’s Chicago State University documents are also still the subject of litigation in the United States. The questions raised about documents submitted for his election must be answered on their own terms. Insulting Atiku’s school will not make them disappear. Nor can Shettima pretend that the documented 1993 forfeiture in Chicago, arising from a narcotics investigation, has never raised questions. A separate U.S. case concerning the release of records from that historical investigation remains a matter of public interest. Shettima says Atiku wants Nigerians to “backslide into penury.” Back from where? The World Bank estimates that nearly seven in ten Nigerians will live below its lower middle income poverty line in 2026, while 35 million people face acute food insecurity. Poverty is not a future threat to these families. It is the life they are struggling through today. A parent choosing between transport to work and food for the children does not need Shettima to explain penury. His remark shows how far this government has drifted from the people it serves. Atiku has proposed a targeted, capped and independently audited subsidy tied to petrol refined in Nigeria. If Shettima thinks it cannot be funded, he should show his figures and offer a better way to lower prices. Insulting Atiku will not fill a cooking pot, pay a bus fare or put fuel in a tank. Atiku has nothing to be ashamed of. He walked through the doors of the Kano School of Hygiene, studied, worked and rose. The shame belongs to Shettima, who stood before a nation weighed down by hunger and chose to laugh at honest education. After three and a half years in the saddle, Nigerians have seen the bitter consequences of allowing a man with a forged education to become President. Tinubu is an error the Nigerian electorate made in 2023, and on January 16, 2027, the whole country will be impatient to correct that error. Shettima and Bola may be too far removed from ordinary homes to hear the anger building inside them. Those homes will have a voice at the ballot box. Nigerians will answer the Vice President’s mockery and his boss’s record with their votes. Shettima and Bola will be beaten by the very people they have stopped listening to. TINUBU MUST EXPLAIN LUXURY SUV GIFTS TO APC YOUTHS WHILE NIGERIANS GO HUNGRY — ATIKU. Former Vice President and African Democratic Congress presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has accused President Bola Tinubu of presiding over a grotesque spectacle of executive excess: the reported distribution of 2026 model luxury SUVs, each worth more than ₦150 million, to APC youth leaders while millions of Nigerians are crushed by hunger and soaring costs. Atiku said it was a brazen insult to ask Nigerians to endure hardship while party loyalists receive vehicles worth a fortune. He demanded an immediate public explanation from President Tinubu and the Presidency: who is paying for these SUVs, and why is such lavish political spending taking place while ordinary families struggle to afford food and transport? In a statement issued by Phrank Shaibu, Director of Strategic Communication of the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, Atiku said: "The APC National Youth Leader says these vehicles were donated by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu. Nigerians deserve to know where the money came from to buy and distribute so many 2026 model SUVs, each worth more than ₦150 million, for political mobilisation. "The First Lady holds no elected or executive office. She is only a domestic appendage of the office of President. Were these vehicles bought with her personal funds, donations or public resources? Who paid for them? What was the total cost? The Presidency must provide a clear account. Nigerians cannot be expected to accept a fleet of extraordinarily expensive vehicles for party loyalists without knowing who financed them. "At a time families cannot afford food, transport and other basic necessities, these gifts are a brazen insult to the people. The government has found a way to provide luxury SUVs for APC youth leaders, yet millions of Nigerians are still waiting for meaningful relief from the cost of living crisis. This is not merely a question of misplaced priorities. It is one of the most outlandish displays of executive recklessness in our history. "First, APC women leaders reportedly received luxury vehicles. Now, according to the National Youth Leader, APC youth leaders are receiving SUVs from the First Lady. The earlier gifts came on the eve of the abduction of schoolchildren in Oyo State. Now another lavish round of political giving is taking place while Nigerians face hunger, insecurity and hardship. "While Nigerians continue to ask where the savings from subsidy removal have gone, the Presidency must explain how such costly gifts are being funded. If the vehicles were paid for privately, the source of the funds should be disclosed. If public resources were used, the government must identify who authorised the spending and under what legal authority. "The scale of these gifts raises grave questions about whether our collective patrimony is being diverted to buy political loyalty. Nigeria cannot be run as a captured state, where wealth and influence serve the powerful while ordinary citizens are left to struggle. "The same youth leader who made the gifts public is reportedly travelling by private jet. That image of extraordinary privilege stands in jarring contrast to the hardship facing ordinary Nigerians. The Presidency must stop treating questions about wealth and spending as an inconvenience. Nigerians have a right to ask where the money came from. "Nor is this culture of privilege confined to party officials; it reaches the very household of the President. His own son, Mr Seyi Tinubu, has been pictured, in widely circulated images, wearing a Richard Mille RM 67-02 Sébastien Ogier, a timepiece that sells for close to half a million dollars ($500k), while the same government asks ordinary Nigerians to endure hardship, tighten their belts and wait patiently for relief that never seems to arrive.

PRESS STATEMENT TINUBU LACKS EMPATHY, SHOULD LEARN FROM EMMANUEL MACRON, SAYS ADC-PCC ......Opposition council faults President’s response to national tragedies, contrasts it with Atiku’s visit to Niger State The African Democratic Congress Presidential Campaign Council (ADC-PCC) has criticised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over what it described as his lack of empathy for Nigerians facing insecurity, hunger and economic hardship, urging him to learn lessons in responsive leadership from French President Emmanuel Macron. The council’s reaction follows reports that Macron postponed his scheduled state visit to Nigeria, initially planned for October 28–29, 2026, amid domestic challenges in France. The proposed visit, which was also expected to include the France-Nigeria Business Forum in Lagos, was reportedly rescheduled for early 2027. According to the ADC-PCC, the reported decision underscores the importance of a leader’s responsibility to remain attentive to pressing domestic concerns. “A president will not travel when his home is contending with internal combustion,” a Nigerian official familiar with the development was quoted as saying The council argued that the principle of placing citizens’ welfare at the centre of governance should guide leadership, particularly at a time when Nigerians are grappling with insecurity, rising living costs and other socioeconomic difficulties. It cited persistent attacks and killings in Plateau, Niger, Benue, Zamfara, Kaduna, Kogi, Kwara, Katsina, Sokoto and other parts of the country, alongside reports of mass abductions, displacement of communities and unlawful detentions. The ADC-PCC accused President Tinubu of failing to demonstrate sufficient public empathy in the face of these challenges, alleging that his official engagements have not adequately reflected the gravity of the suffering experienced by affected communities. The council also raised concerns over a reported incident in Niger State involving the detention of more than 60 young Nigerians under allegedly inhumane conditions, with over 37 reportedly dying in custody. It described the incident as a grave national concern that demanded urgent government attention, accountability and compassion for the affected families. According to the council, President Tinubu’s response fell short of the level of public engagement it expected from the country’s leader. It further claimed that Vice President Kashim Shettima’s eventual visit to the state came weeks after the incident and after former Vice President Atiku Abubakar had visited to commiserate with affected communities and bereaved families. The ADC-PCC said Atiku’s visit reflected the importance of identifying with citizens during moments of grief, adding that public office holders should demonstrate concern not merely through official statements but also through visible engagement with affected people. The council maintained that leadership requires more than the discharge of official duties, arguing that empathy, accountability and respect for human life are essential qualities in responding to national emergencies. “President Macron has offered a reminder that the concerns of citizens must remain central to leadership. When a country faces a serious domestic crisis, its leadership must demonstrate urgency, compassion and a willingness to take responsibility,” the council said. It urged the Tinubu administration to give greater priority to protecting lives, addressing insecurity and alleviating the economic hardship confronting Nigerians. The ADC-PCC further called for greater accountability in the handling of incidents involving loss of life and alleged unlawful detention, insisting that affected families deserve answers and justice. The council said Nigeria needs leadership that listens to citizens, responds decisively to emergencies and treats the protection of human life as a fundamental responsibility of government. Yesterday, President @officialABAT commissioned a section of the Abuja–Kaduna highway from Ranchers Bees Stadium in Kaduna, where the APC held its presidential campaign flag-off. It is no longer news that the shambolic flag-off was rejected by the people. Tinubu was confronted with shouts of "Ba ma yi" in Hausa which translates to "We reject it." Mr President, when did Ranchers Bees Stadium become part of the Abuja–Kaduna Expressway corridor? Why commission the highway from a campaign venue instead of visiting the completed section, inspecting the work and engaging with the Nigerians who use it? This choice also raises questions about the President’s stamina and fitness for the demanding responsibilities of office. It also raises concerns about his state of health. Considering that the demanding work of goverance is not for the invalid, Nigerians are entitled to seek credible reassurance about the health and capacity of Tinubu to lead them for another four years. If there were security, logistical or other reasons for the arrangement, the Presidency should explain them. Citizens deserve answers, not insults for asking legitimate questions. There is also the troubling fusion of government business with party campaigning. A publicly funded highway belongs to ALL Nigerians. Its commissioning should not become a campaign accessory for Tinubu’s re-election. Nigerians deserve a President who can meet the demands of office and a government willing to account for its performance. A stadium can accommodate the ceremony. Only the highway can demonstrate the delivery. N.B: The illustrative map is meant to show that there's no continuity of the Abuja-Kaduna Road and the Ranchers Bees Stadium venue of the so-called commissioning.

I was honoured to participate in the @Gatefieldco Health Summit 2026, held in Abuja, where policymakers, health experts, development partners, and private sector leaders gathered to discuss practical solutions for building a healthier Africa. My message was clear: Africa does not lack innovation; our challenge is ensuring that proven solutions reach the people who need them most. As I stated in my address, “We cannot accept this as our permanent baseline.” The persistent challenges of maternal and child mortality, inadequate primary healthcare, the rising burden of diseases, and the financial hardship families face in accessing healthcare demand urgent and sustained action. We must move beyond isolated interventions and embrace solutions that are scalable, sustainable, and accessible to every citizen, regardless of their location or economic circumstances. From strengthening primary healthcare at the grassroots to investing in digital health infrastructure and expanding access to health insurance, our focus must remain on delivering measurable improvements in people's lives. As lawmakers, we have a responsibility to ensure that policies, budgetary commitments, and legislative frameworks translate into tangible results for ordinary Nigerians. Healthcare must not be a privilege reserved for those who can afford it; it must be a fundamental priority in building a just and productive society. I therefore reiterate my call for collective action: “Let us commit to breaking down the silos between innovation and implementation.” The true measure of progress is not merely the solutions we develop, but the lives we improve through their effective delivery. Together, we must build a health system that protects our mothers and children, empowers our communities, and guarantees every African the opportunity to live a longer, healthier, and more productive life. A healthier Africa is possible, and the work of making it a reality must begin with the actions we take today.
