The Burnt Peanut incident is exactly why the gaming sphere should not cater to right wing Chuds.
They invade our gaming hobby, ruin the fandom with their entitled toxicity, leech off the community until it's ruined and then move on to the next.
Literally Ghouls.
This weekend, a Dead by Daylight team member awarded in-game content and currency to a creator streaming our game. Although it is not unusual to unlock content to give creators discovering DbD a chance to have a sneak peek at available content, this decision was made without receiving appropriate approvals. Furthermore, the team member's subsequent comments and conduct do not align with Dead by Daylight’s core values.
When concerns about this decision became apparent during the stream, we should have responded by looking into these concerns, not dismissing them.
Unfortunately, we’ve now seen the fallout of this decision unfolding in many conversations across the DbD community. We appreciate and stand with our community’s willingness to ensure our shared values are being upheld, at all times, regardless of popularity, and we’re heartbroken at the inflammatory language now being directed towards our community.
At the same time, threatening employees will never be acceptable, and we’re asking everyone to stop engaging with these posts.
We apologize to our community for letting you down. We have already begun reviewing our internal processes to prevent an incident like this from happening again.

This apology absolutely skirts around the points being made by us. Trying to Frame this as an internal approval issue completely sidesteps the big question, why was this particular creator being given these benefits in the first place?? what was the reason that led to the decision? Trying to say the correct approvals weren't obtained doesn't really address any of the concerns people have nor does it explain WHY those concerns were initially dismissed (YOU EVEN SAID SO IN THIS APOLOGY) Accountability means addressing the decision itself and not just the process surrounding it.
You also reference your "core values" without defining what those are or how any of this contradicts them? If these values are so important to Dead by Daylight enough to invoke an apology with that included then surely the community deserves to understand what they mean in practice! Values shouldn't just be a convenient phrase that is used to distance a company from individual conduct it should be something consistently demonstrated, which lacks in this entire situation.
Threats and harassment towards employees are completely unacceptable and nobody should be subjected to that but it's important not to conflate that behaviour with actual criticism or use it to try and overshadow the concerns being raised. The community has EVERY right to question your decisions and expect answers. You acknowledge you've let people down but offer such little transparency and accountability or meaningful reassurance about what will change in the future. The community deserve an apology that dresses the issue itself and not just the fallout.

"burntpeanut isn't homophobic or racist"
his community is.
he built and curated that community.
he is a reflection of that.
El-Sayed: None of this matters. You know what matters? There are families who are preparing to send their kids to schools tomorrow that look like they did 50 years ago. They're worried about what they're going to feed their kids for lunch. They're worried that if one of their kids gets sick, they're not going to be able to pay the bills. Those are the things that matter.

Replying to @Kruzadar
You literally said it’s fine bc it’s just edgy jokes and now ur saying that’s not what you meant lmao if ur gonna defend the racist chud atleast stand on it

this is why im continuing to step further away from Dead by Daylight.
Problematic licenses and then rewarding homophobic and racist people with products? This is embarassing, especially since there are still AMAZING creators who you haven't been approved into your program yet who have devoted their careers to DbD.

cowardly to do this on the DbD Pulse twitter instead of the MAIN dbd twitter. why?
DbD doesnt want the HEAT from the burnt peanut community. instead, they are relying on their community to handle the situation. like always.
dbd continues the trend: shut the fuck up and ignore our mistakes. we apologized. thats enough.

This is the crowd @DeadByDaylight is catering to and welcoming into the community.
Yes, this is the exact fanbase of this streamer. Not just a few “bad apples”.
It’s bewildering how this exact same conversation already happened with Fortnite a couple months ago and @DbDPulse still felt proud to back it.

You know what’s funny?
This wasn’t even a good business decision lmao
You spent 10 years building a progressive community
Who do you think is buying all those feng & sable cosmetics? Your progressive community
The streamer that you guys spent an entire afternoon defending played dbd for 2 hours & is now done with the game.
so now you’re left with no new players or financial gain from his community & your actual community is now aware that you don’t actually stand by the values you claim to have

It’s hilarious watching Disney and MCU shills insist that LANTERNS has no motion while actual Disney stars are out here dressing up as the DCU Hal Jordan 😂
Hal Jordan has never been more loved by the public and I’m so happy for that!

The more I ponder on this film, the more I really don't like it. Like objectively. The one thing it has going for it is that it looks nice. But every character being an idiot and every scare being downplayed by comedy just rubbed me the wrong way
Zach Cregger says he was frustrated that the conversation surrounding his ‘RESIDENT EVIL’ film had nothing to do with the film.
“It had to do with whether the movie was living up to the different standards that different fans of the games had… it was just a lot about ‘why isn’t this like the source material?’ OR ‘why is it good that it’s not like the source material?’
(Source: podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcas…)
It's not just about the streamers, the platform itself fosters this toxic and dangerous community of streamers who spout bigoted shit, commit violent acts, and even elicit pedophilic content that endangers minors. Kick is just a fucked platorm, Fuck the 3peat I changed my vote
Kamen Rider retweeted
I love Zach Cregger but Resident Evil is as big as it’s ever been and fans want a film adaptation to be faithful to the games that they love.
Remove two lines of dialogue and you would’ve never guessed that his movie had anything to do with Resident Evil.
There have been now eight movies and one tv show that have either blatantly disrespected the source material or weren’t given the proper resources to actually succeed.
Fans have every right to be frustrated at this point because adapting Resident Evil properly shouldn’t be this hard.
Sorry but that’s just how it is 🤷
