🚨 𝐌𝐀𝐉𝐎𝐑 𝐍𝐂𝐀𝐀 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 NCAA Division II has now adopted the same age-based eligibility model introduced at Division I level in June - effective immediately for the 2026-27 academic year. Here is what every player and family needs to know: 📋 What has changed? The traditional seasons-of-competition model has been replaced with a five-year period of eligibility tied to age and enrollment date. The five-year clock starts at whichever comes first - full-time enrollment at any college or university, or the beginning of the academic year after the student's 19th birthday. 📅 Who does it affect? Current student-athletes with eligibility remaining will have whichever model - old or new - applied to give them the most favourable outcome. Prospects enrolling in Fall 2027 or later will be subject to the age-based model only. ⚠️ Who it does NOT help? Student-athletes whose eligibility was already exhausted under the previous rules will not receive additional eligibility. ✅ Exceptions Three exceptions remain that may pause or delay the five-year period - pregnancy, active-duty military service and official religious missions. 💡 What this means for recruits? Your age, graduation year, gap years and enrollment date now directly affect your Division II eligibility - just as they do at Division I. Planning your college timeline properly has never been more important. 👉 Not sure how this affects your pathway? Get in touch with the #SRUSA team at srusasoccer.com #CollegeSoccer
