Last full day in this beautiful city of Stockholm before heading to Copenhagen, Denmark. For anyone who has never been to Sweden, Stockholm is definitely a must-visit. Lilly dropping another Prevail gene-therapy program doesn’t mean $LLY is leaving gene therapy — it shows Lilly is pruning weak programs while investing in better platforms.
That makes $SGMO even more interesting: STAC-BBB, zinc-finger technology, MINT and key IP could provide the foundation for the next generation of gene-therapy programs.
Paying just $50M for all of this would be an extraordinary bargain.

Five months ago I searched every major carrier for Fabry gene therapy coverage. Nothing. Only ERT policies existed.
Today: Ambetter (Centene Corporation) published Policy CP.PHAR.780, effective June 1, 2026. Isaralgagene Civaparvovec (ST-920), listed BY NAME with full prior authorization criteria: AAV6 neutralizing antibody exclusion, dosing at 2.63 x 10^13 vg/kg, eGFR cutoff, one-time infusion per lifetime. These are STAAR study parameters. Someone briefed Centene.
Traditionally, Centene publishes coverage policies ahead of FDA approval while other carriers hold theirs internally until after approval. Centene publishing now signals confidence in the approval timeline.
This matters for the deal: the biggest unknown in gene therapy commercialization is payer coverage. With Centene building the framework, any potential partner or acquirer can now hone in on a firmer rNPV and DCF. The commercial pathway is no longer theoretical, which means more defensible peak sales, tighter projections, and a larger deal value in the negotiation room.
Policy effective June 1. BLA CMC targeted summer 2026. The commercial pathway is being built alongside the regulatory pathway.
