Welcome to the Noongar season of Birak! Birak is the first summer so is very dry and hot. It is also the time the sacred Moodjar (Christmas Tree) blooms. The Moodja holds a special place in the hearts of many Noongar people... abc.net.au/news/2019-12-24/w… via

Why is it that we still ask ‘why didn't she leave?’ when the real question should be ‘where would she go?’

From our CEO 👇as we've been told funding will be cut back next year to many of the vital services we provide to families going through relationship breakdown such as family mediation, supporting children after separation and specialised domestic violence support
As MPs speak out against family violence, the Federal Govt is risking the future of specialised DV & family support services. @scottmorrisonmp you cannot talk of “making a real difference for women & children” whilst cutting funds to these services ab.co/2w2oAtQ

Indigenous Australians served our nation at a time when they weren’t considered Australians, and defended rights that weren’t extended to them.
It is right to acknowledge their contribution and service to Australia.

This decision by @RSLWA is profoundly disappointing and not reflective of the respectful, inclusive society we should all be working towards. We hope they will reconsider and reverse this decision immediately. abc.net.au/news/2020-02-21/r…

The fundamental issue that the @RSLWA decision again highlights is that Australia STILL does not accept Aboriginal culture and history as its own culture and history. Its this little thing off to the side for “them” to celebrate on “their” days.
I dream of the day this changes.

This is appalling @RSLWA.
Many First Nations peoples have served this country in the armed services & this is deeply offensive to their memories and it's not in the ANZAC spirit.
This hurtful and offensive decision should be immediately reversed.
