A Texas father who had lived in the U.S. for 25 years with no criminal record was finishing his night shift as an Uber driver when immigration agents detained him. Without being able to speak to his lawyer or a judge, he was put on a plane and sent first to Ghana, a country where he had no ties. He was then sent to his home country, despite a determination by a U.S. immigration court judge that he could not be deported there due to likely persecution. cbsn.ws/3Ude66r

As someone who’s lived in DC for 13 of the last 15 years, this is just a total lie. The idea that rampant crime caused “all the restaurants” to close is just total nonsense. You what did government policy decision DID hurt restaurants badly? Last year’s ICE surge!
Trump: "In Washington, all the restaurants were closing. People were being held up. They'd walk into a restaurant. Like Jesse James. 'Stand up! Give us all your money.' They're eating dinner at a fancy restaurant. All the restaurants were closing. Now if you're a restaurateur you can't even get a restaurant."

“I cannot call my wife; I can't contact my lawyer. I can't talk to no one. I tell them, ‘This is kidnapping. You guys kidnapped us.’” Moussa Diawara was deported to Ghana, and says Ghana then sent him to his native Mali. A U.S. immigration judge previously ruled he could be deported, but not to Mali, where the judge ruled he would likely face persecution. In a statement, the Department of Homeland Security told 60 Minutes that Ghana had provided the U.S. with “diplomatic assurances for his safety.” DHS also questioned the credibility of Diawara’s arguments for fearing persecution in Mali. cbsn.ws/3WLvf7T

Of the 55 deaths of people in ICE custody since President Trump returned to office, at least 10 were suspected suicides. Medical experts say this can raise questions about lack of oversight. wapo.st/4kfH009

Israeli soldiers forced Palestinian families from their homes in Hebron in the occupied West Bank overnight Friday, taking control of the properties, marking houses with X signs and hanging Israeli flags from balconies. Troops also blocked roads and closed a nearby checkpoint, restricting movement in the neighborhood as the military expanded its presence in the area. The operation followed an attack Friday in which two Palestinian gunmen killed two Israeli soldiers and wounded three others before being shot dead by Israeli forces. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had threatened a major military offensive following the attack.

I’m sure everyone has already forgotten about this but the Dominican man, Oscar Belgal, shot in the neck by ICE on 10/8, and slandered by Newsweek and others as “having a criminal history,” has just been denied medical release by a fascist judge. nytimes.com/2026/10/23/nyreg…

Here’s something you should know about minks: They have lungs and airways remarkably similar on a cellular level to those of people. They’ve spread flus and infected humans before with COVID-19. Right now, bird flu is spreading on a Utah farm filled with thousands of them… 🧵

This should be one of the biggest stories of the moment. When a court blocks the Trump admin from deporting migrants to dangerous home countries, the government is sending them to 3rd countries with zero ties—who then send them straight to where they were fleeing. Lawless.
Within five days of being deported from the U.S., Moussa Diawara says Ghanaian officials forced him onto a flight to Mali, the very country a U.S. immigration judge ruled he could not be deported to. Diawara says he was homeless and went into hiding. Watch the 60 Minutes report Sunday at 7 p.m. ET/PT on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.

Today I received notification of the 60th death in ICE custody since Trump returned to office. Sadly, this appears to be a death by suicide. When our country detains people, we have the responsibility of ensuring both their physical and mental health — not driving them, though incredible cruelty, to commit suicide. Dismantle ICE.

This is known as “chain refoulment” and it’s a violation of both U.S. and international law.
