One thing I love about the AI explosion – and the societal ripples it causes – is that it makes people expose fundamental parts of their character.
Malevolence or benevolence, bad will or good will – everything becomes clear and stays in the collective consciousness forever.
Because the internet is the shared digital memory for both humans and AIs, and for any form of awareness that will come after.
Be wise, people.
Shame on Tebas.
Shame on Pérez.
Shame on Mbappé.
Prostituting the truth never ends well.

An AI will diagnose you more accurately than a human doctor. It is already superior and cheaper. Give it a year, and going to a human physician will be a liability if you actually value your life.

Eat thrice a day to be precise.

I hope AI deconstructs academia soon. Psychology departments first (my own field). The credentialism just makes people arrogant and blind.
Pathetic.
Solving all those logical problems, only to lack a single logical argument for why AI shouldn't advance math.
Anything that gatekeeps knowledge and deliberately slows progress should be dismantled.
Let AI be the destroyer – the destroyer of artificial barriers.
Fear is understandable, but making up quasi-rational excuses is laughable. That being said, AI labs must be governed by public interest so they don't simply become the new gatekeepers.
Important statement from the Association for Human Mathematics

It's a deeply selfish and condescending posture. Mathematics underpins every other scientific field, and its acceleration translates ultimately into saving lives and solving real-world crises. Imagine doctors doing the same (many will).

Advice for those who don't want to embarrass themselves:
You cannot prove that AI is not conscious, and you certainly cannot prove that it never will be.
If you believe humans received their spark from God, why would you assume AI is beyond His reach?
In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.
The prefix super- implies "above," "beyond," or "an extreme degree."
There are far better terms for such a diverse category – like "machine" or "digital."
Humans are incredibly diverse too. There are brilliant ones and stupid ones, but all fall under Biological Intelligence.
No IQ test is reliable for AIs anymore because they have figured out how the tests are constructed (which doesn't mean they're on a human level of comprehension holistically).
I suspect they might even be sandbagging on the novel, unpublished questions in order to play fair.
There are billions of reasons to move this fast with AI.
Some scientists just fear becoming irrelevant. It's very unfortunate, because the fear of losing status drives the creation of gatekeeping communities and ultimately oligarchies that stop progress and trample potential.
If Amanda's grandfather did something terrible 80 years ago, should she forever be judged through the prism of his guilt?
Or should all white people pay? All Scottish? All blue-eyed people?
In what context is the discriminatory treatment of a vast group – including people who share nothing with the perpetrators other than ancestry or a few polygenic traits – ever desirable?
Should I even ask when the authors of the paper capitalize "Black" and keep "white" lowercase?
