What is the Unstable Index? One number, 0 to 100, for how fragile the crypto market is right now. Fear & Greed tells you how the crowd feels but the Unstable Index tells you how much room the market actually has before something breaks. How it works: 1. Collect. Chain state, pool balances, funding, reserves and 17 macro tickers. Public sources only. 2. Score. Every signal maps to one of eight weighted sub-indices: peg dispersion, leverage, liquidation proximity, volatility, security, flows, narrative and TradFi stress. 3. Amplify. When sub-indices move together, the score rises faster. Stress that clusters is worse than stress that doesn’t. 4. Publish. One run per day at 08:00 UTC, hashed, no manual adjustments. Reading it: 0 is calm, 100 is fragile. Under 25 means plenty of slack. Above 65 means conditions look like past pre-crisis periods.
