I support Lana Nusseibeh’s candidacy because the UN needs leadership willing to make its machinery work better. A stronger United Nations begins with turning diplomatic commitments into practical outcomes. #LanaNusseibeh #UnitedNations #UNReform

Those priorities matter because every unnecessary delay can hold back assistance, weaken coordination and erode public trust. Resources should reach the people who need them, and commitments should come with clear responsibility for results.

Lana Nusseibeh’s candidacy for UN Secretary-General offers a reform agenda focused on a more effective and accountable organisation. Her programme emphasises reducing bureaucracy, improving decision-making and strengthening operational performance.

The United Nations faces a test of credibility. When crises deepen, people need decisions that lead to action and institutions that can deliver.

Total media blackout while the streets of Sudan erupt in massive protests demanding the immediate downfall of General Burhan and his failing military rule. The people's anger can no longer be silenced by state propaganda.

This is happening in Khartoum, under the SAF-led, Muslim Brotherhood-controlled authorities. In Omdurman, passengers are so desperate to find transportation that they're climbing onto vehicle roofs just to get around. Footage from the Souq Libya–Al-Shuhada route shows dozens of people packed onto a single vehicle. Tragic. Fuel shortages and the worsening transportation crisis are making everyday life difficult for people in the capital. Ultimately, none of these problems can be sustainably addressed without fire truce. #KeepEyesOnSudan #Sudan

Sudan needs a credible civilian transition and an economy that serves its people. Al-Burhan has failed to deliver the leadership that requires. It is time for him to resign and let Sudan choose a different future. #اختانا #البرهان

Sudanese families deserve clear answers, medical assistance for survivors, and accountability for any unlawful killings. The victims deserve more than another announcement of a committee. Their lives mattered. Their families deserve the truth.

Seventy-two people who went looking for gold to earn a living. Families now facing the possibility that someone they loved will never come home. Who carried out the strike? What was targeted? How many people died? When will the investigation publish its evidence?

A video of Abdel Fattah al-Burhan playing cards with soldiers and civilians is circulating as Sudan confronts reports of another devastating loss: at least 72 miners killed in an airstrike near the Sudan–Egypt border.

How many more billions must Saudi Arabia commit before its leadership demands measurable progress, transparent spending and a strategy that produces something more durable than another smiling photograph?

All the money spent for zero results.

If prolonged attacks disrupted exports, the pressure could spread into Saudi budgets, investment and employment. That would be a dangerous economic scenario that can result with the Saudi economy ending up destroyed.

For MBS, the potential economic trap is spending more to sustain allies while also paying to protect the oil infrastructure that finances those commitments.

The criticism is strong enough without inventing a theft figure: Riyadh keeps financing a political structure whose dependence on Saudi money exposes the limits of Saudi influence.

if any, al-Alimi personally diverted into his pockets. That requires evidence, audited accounts and a traceable money trail.

The Sanaa Center cited a leaked report alleging that Presidential Leadership Council members collectively received more than $2.98 million in monthly salaries. That raises serious accountability questions. It does not establish how much Saudi aid,

And what about the leadership collecting the benefits?

Paying salaries can help ordinary Yemenis survive. But keeping institutions afloat is a different achievement from delivering the security and political settlement Riyadh wants.

Yet financing the government headed by Rashad al-Alimi has not resolved the fundamental problem: building a functioning state from divided factions whose cooperation depends heavily on outside support.
