The multiverse creates a strange problem for Spider-Man.
If another version of Peter Parker exists in a different universe, does that make his own sacrifices any less meaningful?
I do not think so, but Marvel has to be careful about how it uses alternate versions of the same character.
The appeal of Peter Parker has always been that his choices have consequences. He cannot simply replace a lost relationship with another version of the person he loved or escape every mistake by entering another universe.
A multiverse should challenge his understanding of responsibility, not become an easy way to erase it.

My friend recently started a small baking business, and I watched her lose a friendship over a birthday cake.
One of her closest friends ordered a cake for her daughterโs birthday. My friend gave her the normal price, and the woman immediately asked for a discount because theyโd known each other for eight years.
My friend reduced it slightly anyway.
The woman then asked her to deliver it for free, add extra decorations, and throw in cupcakes for the children.
When my friend said she couldnโt afford to do all that, the woman accused her of being greedy.

By 2030, AI could replace many jobs in tech, IT, cybersecurity, and other computer-related fields.
Meanwhile, people working in care and support services might find themselves in a stronger position because human compassion, empathy, and hands-on care are much harder to automate completely.
The future of work might surprise us all.

I had my first Thrฤesome with two older guys
I just had the craziest sฤxual experience of my life. Iโm a junior in college and I would say Iโm pretty sฤxually active, but I have never had a Thrฤesome. A couple weeks ago there was a family day on campus and there were a ton of people. I ended up meeting a lot of the parents of people that live in the same dorm building as me. I met a couple dads from whose daughters are roommates down the Hall, they seemed cool (and really handsome) so I didnโt mind talking with them. It didnโt go much further that day but they were joking that they would โbe back for meโ and it was kinda cute.

One time I was flying with my wife and then-lap-baby from Vegas to New York. We had purchased 2 first-class tickets. For whatever reason (there was a guy that looked like a marshall up there, that may have been it), there was only one first-class seat left on the flight, so our choices were A) wait for the next flight, or B) split up between first and coach. We chose B, and my wife and daughter sat in first while I was in coach.
To add insult to injury, when I went up to talk to her and take the baby off her lap for a while, the FA yelled at me "you can't come up to first class." I explained that I was just coming to take the baby for a while to give my wife a rest, but she reiterated "you can't come up here; you're not a first-class passenger."

Who else noticed how Silvio slowly stopped doing his iconic Godfather impressions after they whacked Big Pussy?
Sil was always the guy cracking everyone up with his "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!" routine, and Pussy would always be the main one laughing and hyping him up.
But the second Pussy takes that swim, the impressions completely vanish. Silvio loses that lighthearted, goofy side of his personality because the reality of clipping his closest friend completely hardens him into a cold, strict consigliere.
The innocence of the old neighborhood crew is totally dead. The only time we get a tiny glimpse of that old Silvio humor again is in the final episodes, when he does those Raging Bull lines right before the war with New York kicks off and he gets shot up outside the Bing. It's like a final, dark callback to the good old days right before the ship completely sinks๐ฅฒ

For six years, I saved every spare dollar for our IVF treatment. The night before our first appointment, I discovered my husband had spent $41,000 of our savings on his late niece. When I confronted him, he said, โShe needed that money more than your unborn child ever will.โ His mother was sitting beside him when he said it. She nodded in agreement. But when I discovered what they had really been paying for, I understood why they had kept me in the dark.
My name is Rachel Miller. I'm 38 years old, and I live in Columbus, Ohio, with my husband, Daniel.
For six years, having a baby had been the one dream I refused to give up on.
Every birthday, I told myself we still had time. Every time a friend announced a pregnancy, I smiled, congratulated her, and cried in the bathroom afterward.
Daniel was always there to comfort me.
"One day, Rachel," he'd whisper, holding me close. "We'll have our little family."
I believed him.
When fertility tests revealed that Daniel had a low sperm count, our doctor recommended further testing and IVF. Daniel insisted we should wait until we had enough money.
So we waited.
I worked overtime at my accounting job. I stopped buying clothes unless absolutely necessary. We skipped vacations, canceled weekend trips, and deposited money into a joint savings account every month.
I contributed $29,000 of the $46,000 we saved.
Whenever I complained about how long the process was taking, Daniel reminded me that we were building our future.
His mother, Patricia, had a different solution.
She sent us bottles of herbal supplements and expensive vitamins, insisting that a natural approach would save us thousands of dollars.
"Doctors rush people into treatments," she often said. "Give nature a chance."
I wasn't convinced, but Daniel trusted his mother, so I tried to remain patient.
Then, in September, our fertility specialist called to confirm that we could begin treatment the following month.
I cried with happiness.
For the first time in six years, holding my baby didn't feel like an impossible dream.
Our appointment was scheduled for Tuesday morning.
On Monday night, while I was ironing my clothes for the hospital, Daniel walked into our bedroom and sat on the edge of the bed.
"Rachel, we need to talk."
Something about his expression made my stomach tighten.
"What happened?"
He rubbed his hands together.
"I canceled the appointment."
I stared at him.
"What do you mean, you canceled it?"
"We don't have enough money anymore."
I laughed nervously, waiting for him to explain the joke.
He didn't.
I grabbed my phone, opened our banking app, and checked the account.
The balance was $2,184.
I refreshed the screen.
Still $2,184.
Our savings had been nearly $46,000 just a few months earlier.
My fingers began to tremble.
"Daniel, where is our money?"
He looked toward the bedroom door.
"Some of it went toward family expenses."
"What family expenses could possibly cost forty thousand dollars?"
He remained silent.
I opened the transaction history. Over the previous eight months, dozens of transfers had been made to different accounts. Some were labeled medical expenses. Others were payments to a private school and a property management company.
Then I saw the name attached to one of the largest transfers.
Emily Carter.
Daniel's younger sister's daughter.
Emily had died eight months earlier at the age of five after a sudden medical emergency.
I remembered the funeral. I remembered Daniel holding his sister while she sobbed beside the tiny white coffin.
I had cried for that little girl, too.
"What does Emily have to do with our savings?" I asked.
Daniel finally looked at me.
"I used the money to help her."
"Help her? Daniel, she's dead."
His face hardened.
"Her mother was struggling. There were expenses. Things that had to be taken care of."
"Forty-one thousand dollars?"
He stood up.
"Don't make me feel guilty for helping my family."
I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
