Useful chart from the Globe and Mail. While Americans are wealthier on average, average Canadians are wealthier (see what I did there ...) when one looks at median wealth.

A hot day with higher demand in Ontario. Little wind and solar (and some nuclear offline) so unfortunately we are stuck with burning gas, and breaching the low-carbon limit of 100g.

On the longest day of the year - showing Canada's warming climate stripes. We and the world warmer than anytime over the last 125,000 years and increasing quickly.

As Ontario gets hotter and AC increases, much higher demands for electricity (and more gas increases our carbon emissions). Heat pumps would help (as well as lower emissions in winter).

Brain drain from Canada. A growing concern.
This is what brain drain looks like. A 10 year high of people leaving Canada for the US. 2022 saw a 70% increase from 2012. Notice that not only a record of Canadian born people leaving but also immigrants that weren't born in Canada or the US are leaving Canada. This is before the new capital gains taxes and record housing unaffordability. People are voting with their feet.
