Last week Lachie Neale joined an ultra exclusive list of players to play in the first two losing Grand Finals for a particular team. In Neale's case it was Fremantle, playing with them in 2013 and then against them in 2026.

Understandably North Melbourne sacked Clarko a few weeks ago after he was unable to reverse an almost 20-year trend of Hawthorn finishing higher on the ladder than North Melbourne. Even when the Hawks were crap North were crappier.

The Jon Dorotich Medal is awarded to the player who has the lowest number of disposals in a game where they receive a Brownlow Medal vote. Jye Amiss edged out Ben Kind and Jack Gunston on a countback due to having the most handballs.

This is the second time since 2011 where Amiss has won the Jon Dorotich Medal (after winning in 2024), joining fellow Freo big man Aaron Sandilands as multiple medal winners during this period.

Levi Ashcroft has joined John Platten 1986-87, Shayne Breuer 1994-95 and David O'Halloran 1976-77 as the quickest players to 50 games doing so inside their first two V/AFL seasons. Unfortunately Murphy Reid's swollen testicles prevented him from joining this list.

Even with a grand final victory Ashcroft can't beat Platten's record of 39 wins in the first two years. Ashcroft is also well short of the Tim Watson held record for most games before age 20 (89), after Watson debuted at 15 years and 305 days old.

Had a few DMs come our way after Collingwood played in their fourth after the siren game this year, including the most recent final. Whilst a few Pies players have now infiltrated the Cats from 2009-2021 they still have a little way to go to catch Tom Hawkins.
