"These lines weren’t drawn by the Almighty. Politicians care deeply about such things, however, because they care deeply about power, and about preserving the status quo that has served the ruling class so well."
We agree @mises.

If the @GreaterIdaho Movement is successful, we should see the same model applied elsewhere between pairs of neighbor states to achieve greater representation:
-Greater Nevada
-Greater Indiana
-Greater Pennsylvania
-Greater West Virginia
-Greater Wisconsin
As early as the 1780s, settlers on the fringes of North Carolina & the future state of Tennessee tried to form their own state: Franklin.
#Utahism gives shape to an ambition which has existed and continues to exist in America, the desire for representative statehood.
Maine would like to have a word with you

I would definitely say yes for the bigger states like California and Texas but not for the smaller ones in like New England

The Superior Peninsula absolutely SHOULD BE its own state!✊️
The roadblocks faced by TGIM at the state level are a reminder that Utahism and the pursuit of state representation must become mainstream discussions in America
13 counties in E Oregon have voted to explore leaving Oregon and joining Idaho because they do not share the values of Gov. Kotek and the metro area. Rather than respecting and supporting the people who have made those votes, the Gov. and OR Legislature have "stood together" in holding us captive against our wishes. Federal help to preserve our fundamental freedoms to self-determination would be appreciated.
The proposed state of Superior or Ontonagon had been considered since the administration of President Jefferson, then having proposed calling it "Sylvania."
Though it has repeatedly sought statehood since then, the last major statehood movement disappeared after 2012.
Would D.C. receive statehood under a Utahist model? Likely, but conditionally. Any discussion surrounding D.C. requires a reevaluation of how a federal capital should function in the U.S.
D.C. achieving statehood would likely require the establishment of a new capital city.
Under a Utahist model, Puerto Rico would almost certainly be granted statehood as it meets the population criteria, and through its own referenda has demonstrated a desire for statehood.
This largely rural and mountainous land spanning the borders of NY and PA has long stood apart from its neighboring lands in either state.
Calls for representation from this region caught widespread attention when in 2015 several border towns in NY sought annexation by PA.
Probably the single state which has received more calls for partition in recent years than any other.
California houses counties which are larger than some states. It occupies nearly 2/3rds of the West Coast. And the state varies widely across its North, South, East, and West.
Though often considered wholly separate from its urban core, Long Island, NYC, and the Lower Counties are indisputably interconnected by infrastructure, economics, history, environment, and even culture, not to mention their pursuit of statehood.
While it has taken several forms, the peoples of Downstate Illinois, Forgottonia, Greater Peoria, and Little Egypt have repeatedly expressed their desire for representation and independence from the influence of Northern Illinois and the Chicagoland area.
