Are most sentences unique? I investigated the Chomskyan claim (as summarized by @sapinker) using some corpora, inspired by a conversation with @langofmind: arxiv.org/pdf/2509.19108

Excited to share my new preprint! Extending prior work on visual working memory load, we showed that speech-induced mental imagery load during eye closure also similarly suppresses posterior alpha power, suggesting a shared pointer system across vision and language.
