#HoweFire – A vegetation fire is burning in steep terrain south of the community of Piru and the Santa Clara River. The fire is estimated at approximately 40 acres. A second alarm has been requested, along with air tankers and additional helicopters. High-tension power lines are in the area. #MariaFire Update #2 – The fire is estimated at 15 acres, with approximately 140 firefighters making steady progress on the ground. A total of 52 units, including three helicopters and one dozer, are assigned to the incident. See the firefight from above with live footage from Drone 11. 👉Did you miss today's Board of Supervisor's meeting? Here's a highlight, the Board approved a major investment in cleaner air and better public health at the Ray D. Prueter Library in Port Hueneme! With a $200,000 grant from Ventura County Air Pollution Control District and an additional $200,000 from the Library’s Education Fund, the library will upgrade all nine HVAC units, qualifying it to serve as a safe space during wildfires or other poor air quality events. 🔗Read the full press release: rb.gy/wm4bj8
