Earlier today my wife and I made a round trip from Calgary to Drumheller AB to visit friends. The track you see was laid while operating HF RPR APRS. WA7GMX-1 in the state of Washington was hearing me direct on 10.147.30 Mhz and dropped 50 of my beacons on google maps.

On occasion while out and about with my mobile playing ham radio, I also chase after train photos. Not only do I use my digital cameras, but I also on occasion use my 40 year old Nikon FM film camera seen in the photo loaded with Kodak Ektachrome 100 transparency film.

This Marathon Military Navigator Quartz watch that I've owned for more than 10 years is one of my favorite watches. It is built to strict military specifications made to withstand the many challenges that are faced in a everyday environment involving ham radio endeavors.

On an early day in spring 2022 my wife and I made the drive to Longview AB for lunch. Along the way we took a side road west of Turner Valley AB into the foothills to check on how spring was shaping up. To keep track of my mobile, I had RPR (Robust Packet Radio) running on HF.

While looking through my Kodachrome slide albums recently, I came across this photo that dates back to when I was working satellite's regularly, with this photo actually shot on slide film in 2000. Of course the equipment or at least some of it is dated today including me.

APRS Mobile Weather Station - The weather station electronics are mounted in the cargo bay of my mobile. The sensors as seen are mag-mounted, and stored in the cargo bay when not being used.

While ghost towning in Eastern AB, my mobile running RPR (robust packet radio) on 30 meters, was being heard with the beacons being decoded and gated to the Internet by RPR stations across the US, the track being placed on google maps. #arrl #hamradio #dx
