My parents passed away when I was a teenager which obviously had a huge impact on my life, but losing them so young also led to a lot of unexpected challenges for the start of my academic career Here I've highlighted a few of those challenges to help us best support our ECRs 🧵

Never assume you're the only one that feels like they have no clue what's going on. It can look like everyone else is cruising and you're the one struggling, but that is DEFINITELY not the case. Things are rarely as they appear. This is why sharing experiences is powerful.
