My new book Going Mainstream: How extremists are taking over will be released in the UK this week (22 June 2023, @bonnierbooks_uk). While my previous book Going Dark was about radicalisation processes in the extreme fringes of society, Going Mainstream tells the story of how extremist ideas are conquering the societal and political mainstream in liberal democratic countries. From the U.S. Capitol riots to the attempted Reichsbürger coup in Germany, from Andrew Tate to Kanye West, from the strategic alliances of white nationalists and climate change deniers to the overlaps between QAnon and pro-Russia activists – the book asks why we are seeing a revival of extreme anti-minority and anti-democracy attitudes. foyles.co.uk/book/going-main…
